surfed the bmw WEBSITE, the 325i specs came with Style 161 17" Mixed Tyre (staggered) setup like mine.
The rest of the specs are the same as with the CBU unit. Have they changed the specs during the launch of CKD E90?

Maybe they didnt get their facts right....

i was told that the cbu e90 325 will be offloaded for RM268k!!!. good price, limited units available, currently being "restored" after being stranded for months at the port due to AP issue.

it sound's good to be true...i should check it with the dealer...

thanks safri...:)

I checked with my saleslady and the deal is true. Catch is:

1) its a 2005 car
2) It'll be pre-registered to AB
3) Unsure of delivery due to AP issues being sorted out. I was told booking can be made now but delivery can even go up to 1 year later.

This is true regarding the CBU e90 at 268k. I had mine in order but told BMW last week that I have decided to switch to the CKD. The main reason for this is that we are now coming close to year 2007 and according to BMW, this last batch of CBU is now "low priority" and is scheduled for release in September. They are now being "refurbhised" because the paintwork has been ruined by acid rain. Additionally, they will not be released as brand new. They will be registered and sold off as second hand cars. So really, the minute you drive the car out, you will be losing a lot of $$$, mainly due to it being a 2005 car.

Hi rubik, where did u book your car and when is the CKD available ? I was told the earliest for CKD unit is in first week of August (that will be next week!). And the first 120 units are with different type of sport rims. Did you hear anything about all these from where you booked your car ?

if you get a CBU 325i Sparkling Grahite/black interior from the batch in Port Klang, that unit might be ordered by me last August...!! heeheee

I think the ckd is still is a better buy than the cbu. Not much of difference and is cheaper and newer (by year of manufacturing) :)

David,
I ordered mine 3 months ago, for a CBU, but as mentioned above, due to AP issues, the entire batch of CBU got stuck in port klang for months since February. I was told delivery is also beginning to middle of August. The initial batch of CKD is "reserved" for people who got stuck with ordering the CBU, but never delivered. I was also told the rims is for this batch only, then they are switching back to the same rims as the CBU. Not sure why. Besides the rims, everything else is the same as the CBU. I booked my car at Sg.Buloh auto bavaria branch.

U mean the first batch of 120 units' rims are not the original rims as the CBU rims ? Which is nicer....... I mean the rims in the initial batch or the one on CBU ?

Yikes, that certainly puts some perspective on things!

Which rims is nicer ? You decide :) . Btw, regarding the CBU's, i was told they have more than 100 320's and about 50 325's. Top pic is CBU, bottom is CKD

if i had to choose, would go for cbu rims...then again, i'll probably get bored with either one after few months and end up trading them in for breyton or ac...

Yea, the 268k deal for the CBU 325i comes with a few downsides. Taking in consideration that guys bought them new ~Rm318-320+k, its about 50-60k difference from folks who bought the CBU new.

There is just something off with the current CKD batch. Maybe its the rims and offsets on the rear or perhaps the ride height of the car. I inspected the car again today at AB sg besi and it just seems different from the CBUs. Maybe its all in my head heh.

By the way..... Black color look nicer or Silver color ? I see a lot of people will go for black color because it will look fierce......
The advantage of silver color is.... easy maintenance.
Comment ???
