Great work Bundy! Wow, SGST. Sometimes Golf Sometimes Thani... What a moniker...

I thought something along the lines of Sometimes Golf, Sometimes Tonggeng. :p

Anyways, on a serious note. Looking forward to seeing the joy on their faces once the van is presented to them...

Can probably get some of the members to detail the rides with the kids too. :top:

Eggie86,

Just wonder why I don't see your name not on the donation list??

I personally feel that it is not proper to single out anyone. The home has received in excess of the funds it needs. Everyone has their own valid reasons, which I believe we need to respect. There are many names that I wish to call out too as well, but there is no basis to do so.

Bundy - with your permission, suggest close this donation drive and any further donations to the home (since the objective has been far exceeded) can be made personally to the home without having to channel via the club/forum, for this specific cause or others.

Let's focus on getting the van and delivering it asap to the home.

Donated during the Awana drive in Feb. :)

As have many repeated donors whom I am personally aware off e.g during Kuala Selangor drive and Awana Drive

I am awaiting the final figure from MLOC before closing it.

The van search can still continue concurrently with the charity drive for the time being. If there is more funds then we have more options like getting a newer Van. Anyway I think most of the generous members already donated, it's more thru friends that gotta know this from FB.

Another resident association may also donate pending their exco meeting;)

Once again cheers to all and will keep everyone posted. :)

Will go to kajang and check out a KIA Preggio this afternoon with a few other guys:)

If can drift...grab it!

Saw both Kia Preggios, upon telling the Sales Manager this van is meant for an orphanage home he discouraged us from buying it as these are ex KLIA limos. It look fine but mileage a little on the high side.

This one looks too good to be true as this is current model and easily doubled the advertised price, nevertheless have emailed this seller.
http://www.mudah.my/Toyota+Hiace+Van+2+0-8729301.htm

This dealer sells refurbished vans but over our budget, maybe possible if the home trade in the current LiteAce for a 2001 HiAce.

Will check it out tomorrow, http://yusingmotor.blogspot.com/2007/11/toyota-hiace.html

The search continues....(after this will be van expert :p )

Cheers

By next week latest. Busy this week with an event, will drop by GSH this weekend.

Hi all,

Went to Good Samaritan Home yesterday to pass the cheques and also collected receipts for those that requested it. Please let me know which is the best way for me to pass the receipts to all of you.

Here is an update on the search for a new van.

The Home has also been notifying all its donor about this project and as it is, the total amount collected for the van purchase stands at RM44, 813, minus the donation pledged by Italia Auto, MLOC and Mazda club which is about RM10k.

As such, Pastor Albert asked if it is fine if they go ahead and purchase a new KIA Preggio as they found someone that is willing to top up the balance, and also a RM5k discount was offered by Naza Kia.

As it is, a new Kia Preggio is about RM73k inclusive of insurance, roadtax, registration and etc after the discount. Once all the monies are collected from the other car clubs, the donor will top up the RM20k needed for a new van.

We have decided to conclude the van buying by April 9th (further negotiation with Naza for more discount), and possibly have a handover ceremony/party by May 2011. Will post the program up once it's confirmed and everyone is invited to that ceremony.

Once again, thank you all for making this happen!! :)

Cheers

Yup, I have the quotation with me. Anyone knows ppl from Naza Kia, please PM me or ask if more discount can be obtained.

Cheers

Thanks for the effort.
Bundy, can pass the receipts to Astroboy or HH?

Update: 6 Apr. I got the receipts . Thanks.

Dear ALL Members/Contributors,

The Home placed an order for a brand new KIA Preggio last week and shall get it by next week.

As such, we are planning for a Handover Gathering with other car clubs and contributors that have made this what seemed to be an impossible task into a reality. Altogether, this Charity Drive managed to raise RM 65k to purchase the van (after some duty exemption from MOF).

Tentatively the gathering will be on the 15th of May, 5 PM at Good Samaritan Home.

Light refreshment and some food will be served. All are invited and bring along your spouse and kids :)

Once again, thanks to all!! :)

Cheers

Please put your name.

I will be at the home on 15th May 2011 at 5pm:

2) David Yong
