Its a 3 way love affair. I love my car. So does this idiotic cat. Every night without fail the cat will visit my beloved E46. He will sleep on the roof, boot top or bonnet and leave his furs and love bites(nail scratches) all over my beloved. I decided to cover my beloved so he may not touch her again. He got the message and got more nasty. Now worst. He starts to pee on the car. As if to tell me it is his property and territory. Darn smelly! An I cant catch him. He visits at about 3am when the other lover is asleep and disappears by 6 am.I know cats dont like water. So I pour water on my car before I retire for the night. But by 3am, the water has dried up. About time for the cat to appear. How timely and clean for him to sleep and enjoy his love. What to do huh? What can I use as cat repellant? Need help lah brother. Cant stand it anymore.

Get some moth balls and put them in some old socks. Put these on the roof, bonnet and trunk. Cats are repelled by the smell of moth balls.

pet shops sell bottles of bitter lotion that cats and dogs cant stand. spray that around the car.

scratches can be quite bad.

Had the same problem when i was staying at my old apartment.

Solutions:

KILL THE CAT :eek:k:

for sure the cat is a male...the menace tells..hahhah
y dont u buy a female cat? distract that tom...they'll be gone to find a better after they get married...
:yahoo:

i used to face this kind of prob..buy urself a cover for the upper part of ur car...put heavier object on it..make sure it covers all parts of ur car..cats urine can be quite acidic for the paint color to handle..

i think u should get a jerry in the mouse trap and leave it besides ur car for over to let tom play it during midnight bro.

just kidding...

try repellent,or try to park ur car some where else bro.

I had this problem before as well. Funny thing was when I changed my car shampoo, the cat problems went away... so I suspected it had something to do with the car wash I use (scent maybe?). Makes sense cos of all the cars the cat chose mine.

What car wash shampoo are u using btw?

Hello forumers,

Thank you all for all the suggestions. Some of you are very creative. Let me summarise the suggestions:

1. Kill the cat: Not an option for me. I am faint hearted.
2. Moth balls in old socks: will try this as it is a cheap solution.
3. Bitter lotion from pet shop: may try this if moth balls dont work.
4. Dog: much as i love dogs, not for me. cost a lot of money to put dog in dog hotel each time i holiday. and have to worry what to do with my dog each time i am away for long periods.
5. Shampoo: may be an option. The turtle wax shampoo i am using at the moment certainly does not work. Trial and error my be wasteful.
6. Thumb tacks/sharp nail. If all else dont work, this will be me last option.

Will let you know what happen in a few weeks. Hope I win this battle of lovers..hehe.

Dude,

Do NOT get a dog.

I am in the same dilemma as you are, except I have a dog.

When my dog sees the cat, she will try to kill the cat, by jumping onto my car. Needless to say, this leaves a lot of scratch marks on the paintwork, which was already scratched from the cat.

So, the cat will be panicking on the car, while the irritated dog tries to jump onto the car... Not a good thing!

Will try Kev's moth ball solution too!

Good luck!

or........try parking elsewhere.....

dun kill the cat or hurt them with thumb tacks etc la. .. just dun be cruel to animals .. just make them dun like ur car anymore.. moth balls or diff 'scent' of shampoo can make them go away..

feed the cat, get friendly with it, once it gains your trust, catch it and dump it at the local market.
