you may install it rotated such that say 6 is at 12 o'clock position if your engine's peak power is at 6000rpm and you were advised to keep your revs in that region so you drive and ensure the needle is always roughly pointing straight up.

and next to this you may install this:

with 1.8bar at 12o'clock if you were advised that optimal operating boost is 1.8 bar such that anytime you see your needle seeming to hover around 9 o'clock, you know something is amiss.
