from m3forum.interestingIf you hold down the trip odometer reset button while turning on the ignition, the odometer will read: test 1If you wait a second, it will then read: test 1.0If you then press the reset button repeatedly, you can cycle through various readouts. Does anyone know what these readouts mean?If you don't wait, but push the reset button again so it reads: test 2then wait a second until it reads : test 2.0your instrument panel will go through a test routine, displaying the following:

Hi..

I cant find the threat that show us how to do this on the E36.. Please help.

Thanks

With the key in "off" (the position where you poke the key in), press the odometer button and hold it there until the mileage display comes on for 2 secs. Continue holding the button down and turn the key one position. The numbers will start changing... release the button, sit back and enjoy the show. At the end of it, be sure to turn off the key before turning back on if you need to start the engine.

2. 476km 2
3. 688766km 3
4. 22km 4
5. The meters are dancing! With all bulbs on display :D

What are the numbers represents?

wa...with beemer even the odometer can entertain...perhaps its should be called the...Ultimate Entertaining Machine....UEM...

Geoffrey... I have no idea what those numbers mean, looks like some sort of code, and the right digit looks like some sort of countdown (or list)... Maybe if you watch Lost the TV series you may get some idea... :D

Guys, since we are talking about signal lights (hope I'm in the right thread)..
