can anyone tell me why it has two battary

hello all,i need to know why 750 \ 1998 has two battary's one 60 A the other one 110A ?and can i connect one battary the big one?what the use of two? if the big one (110A) for the starter and run the engin so the other one for what?thanks and best regards, sulaiman.
