i have the R5/FCX II. I'd say one of the best US$140 i've spent.

So easy to reset service, and also read the check engine light.

Its bailed me out numerous times.

Besides...if u get this, then charge your kawan kawan teh tarik everytime u reset their oil light.

Franklin....

Does it help reset failure light . I.e ABS , SRS ..

If it does ... damn ... i need one already .

cheers :D

That i'm not sure lar...i think they have a separate tool for the SRS

maybe the BMW club can sponsor some tools...or get a collection to buy some tools to loan out to members?

Our local BMW chapter does that...buy a bunch of tools (code reader, specialized bmw tools etc) and have a club officer keep these tools and when a member needs it, they can loan/rent the tool for really cheap. Some of the specialized tools cost over US$100.
But this is mostly for the DIY folks.

really useful boh?????
actually for small faults, the tool is quite useful but big things like SRS and ABS can't do anything. For info, the tool only caters up to E36/E34 and first 2 or 3 batches of E39s.

I just purchased my R5/FCX-II-16 a few weeks ago through the internet. It took about one week to arrive. I tried to reset my camshaft sensor after I replaced it. The fault that appeared was "Intake camshaft position sensor", "exhaust camshaft position sensor" and "air mass sensor". At first I didn't know whether this device could clear the fault. One for sure was that this device can read all the faults. It could also reset the MIL (malfunction indicator lamp such as "check engine" or "service engine soon"), "oilservice" light and "inspection" light. The R5/FCX-II-16 would not reset the brake lining light, the SRS/airbag light or the ABS brake light. Later I went to AB just to be sure. From the diagnostic result it was apparent that this device did a great job. My R5/FCX tool is quite small and handy. I would say it is half the size of my fist. It came with a pouch too. Worth having it.

Got it from a website.Forgot which one but it works.Plagiarism not intended.
