bmwobd2.jpg
I've tried following the instructions and it doesn't work. Below is the product detail:- * 100% brand new and high quality * Small and portable * Plug & Play, easy to use, no batteries needed * Functions:reset inspection and oil service * 16pin male connnector * Compatible Vehicles BMW 2001 and newer OBD2 Mini 2001 and newer OBD2 Rover 75 2001 and newer OBD2 * Usage: Plug the device into the OBD2 socket of the car All LED`s will blink and than stay on Turn ignition key to enable the board electronic but don`t turn on the motor Press the button for the operation you want to perform shortly The LED of the choosen operation will light and the other Led`s will be off LED`s will perform a light chain which means reset is done On some dashboards there is needed to make a inspection reset before a oil reset

have u tried pressing + holding the odometer reset stalk for a few seconds? seen my mechanic do that when they reset my service interval together with a handheld machine.

Guy i've experienced something amazing.

I did an Oil Reset without the device. What I did was

1. Hold on to the odo meter trip (the mileage will appear)
2. Turn key to position 1(while holding the odo meter trip)
3. Keep the odo trip button pressed (about 5 secs.) until you see "Oil Service" or "Inspection" with "Reset" or "Re" in the display
4. Release and press the Odo trip button for another 5 seconds until "Reset" flashes
5. While flashing Press odo trip briefly and you are back to 25,000 again!

That was my personal experience, got the tip from http://www.bmwtips.com/tipsntricks/reset-plug/reset.htm

Humm, now who wants to buy my reset tool? HA ha!

PS : My ride E46 year 2001
