Bros,My original 318i Radio BMW Business CD sound system really really sucks. There seems to be no bass at all. The sound is ok with sharp & soft enough but just no bass at all.Do you guys having such problem? Any good method to increase the bass? I check around with audio accessories, they said install 12" Sub-Woofer with amp but I dont really want to touch the original audio system, scare  of problem with electronics later. Furthermore it will reduce my boot compartment.Help....

bro...i'm sure u can adjust the bass from the ori player though...
there's one music sign while u press it once,it will change to fader and so on............try it.
if u feel there's not enough bass,u can change to two way speakers without the amp. also will do... :)

Bro...I hv already adjust the setting to max bass still no bass coming out from the back speakers. Funny...sound worst that my friend's RM60k Toyota Unser

but for our car,UDM.
the speakers at the back will come out more bass than the front bro.

change to a two way speakers.
i can bring u to my friend shop to change it in kepong.GOOD...CHEAP...FRIENDLY.... :)

raymond, I also interested. You mean just change the speaker only ah???
I am working near kepong, can you let me know how much?? thank you.

Sorry guys...forgotten to mention I'm staying in Miri, Sarawak... B) so can't go kepong...thanks.

Just changing to 2 way speakers will do kah? Any specify brand or etc??

:D :D

Also have the same problem. No bass. Then went to change to 2-way speakers - a little better, but still not worth the money spent. Power from our original head unit very low, not enough to drive any bass. Yup, after changing speakers - all six of them (2 at the back, and 4 in front) to 2-way speakers + 1 pair of tweeters, my wife's previous Waja still sounds better. Next consideration, an amp for me.

Liew.
Those of us who's used to a 12" woffer and a 1000w amp can never get used to the original sound system.

In Sarawak, u hv to live with it. I'm in Kuching, no accessories want to touch my car.

Powered sub should do the trick - I'm using a 10".

Miri member huh? Now can get a ride the next time I'm in Miri... ;)

if worried about boot space, 8" inch Sub woofer can do the killing oladi..can make yr whole car vibrate..go for those amp & speaker built in together..save hassle, save cost, save space..& still look better

welcome to world of "racun" :D

i started just wanting to change my stock speakers to coaxials.....but was told like someone here says that it is not much better....then considered the powered subwoofers...... but ended up selecting the component systems with new component speakers up front, whilst maintaining the Head Unit/Cd changer and also maintaining the rear stock speakers but adding a 12" subwoofer in the boot. To do this of course you need an amplifier. Since i opt for new component speakers, i had to get the 4channel amp ..... 2 channels to drive the front speakers and bridged the other 2 channels to drive the 12" sub. I tried a run-in 10" sub before (on trial) and the conclusion is go for the 12". Otherwise the good insulation in BMWs will mean than the 10" cant deliver as much bass to the cabin compared to the 12"....and i am not a person who listens to boom boom music.

Believe me, it is a world of difference from the stock audio system.

Another option which my friend had installed recently on his E46 is http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/inde...showtopic=10174 Alpine SWD-1600 Under Seat Active Subwoofer.....doesnt sound that "natural"....a bit muffled.

Whether this or that option, you still need an installer to make the connections to the Head Unit on the dashboard which means removing some panels etc etc. Look around and get a good installer whos is experienced in installing audio for BMWs.

oh, forgot to add that the E46 door speakers have very shallow depth and that means very few speakers can be mounted on it without modifications.

Maybe an option for you is to just get a 12" sub and mono-amp and maintain everything else stock. This will add some bass into your stock set-up. If you worry about boot space, get the 12" sub in a sealed box that has velcro underneath. So when you need to go airport to pick up someone, just remove the sub box from the boot.

bro

ur airbag warning light got on or not after KF audio pasang for u?

worry the installer screw up thing

Bro Stephen,

How you manage to hook up an external amp to the original head unit?

Or yours is an aftermarket unit?

Bro MacDaque,

Yeah I know what you mean. My gf waja sound better  but this is because I am too lazy to tune my setup now. Have to position tweeters to get sound stage.

i like our ori tweeties location....

after market component set might not be able to fit in

:(

Jus for info..

I have done mine a few months back in KK.. touch wood.. no warning lights on .... so far so good...

MB Quart Splits 6.5" front & rear.. MTX 10" Subs 2pcs (I prefer tighter bass) & small box.... running on Soundstream amps.... ah.. & Alpine head unit... most component brought back from Melbourne.... Enjoyed it..

Now the only problem is how to get that Viper Alarm in....

b4 i did installation, i was kind of prepared that the airbag light might come on. But it didnt. KF Audio did not remove my seats for fear of that.

Then after 3 weeks, the airbag light came on. Well, i dont think it is the installation problem because b4 that, i frequently have this airbag warning light coming on and always have to go back to AB to do reset.
