E39 Sound System Upgrade

Dear all, I think we can all agree that the E39 stock sound system is not realy something we can boast about compare with the ride and handling of our UDM. For my personal taste, I think the system is clearly lacking in bass with the smallish stock speakers installed. I am interested to perhaps add an amp and subwoofers and change the existing speakers without changing the stock BM head unit and CD Changer so as not to disturn the appearance of the centre console. Have anyone here upgraded their sound system. Care to share?

He has done my E60 525i but his own car is an E39. You can check it out before deciding to spend any money.

Good workmanship and quality. Very honest guy as well..

I have a Japanese specs radio. Tried to get FM booster but not confident of technician's ability to remove radio from deck. Any ideas where I can get it done safely and surely?

Hi Willy5, thanks for the thread referred. Loads of information there. Now itching to just add a sub and amp as my purpose is just to increase the bass. Very modest expectation.
