Hello all BimmersI would like to share the experience in Bimmer Sounds System.Currently I am using standard Mini Disc player ( 2003 Japan Recond E-46 ).It is really hard to get MD here in Malaysia, luckily I have about 120pcs r/w mini discs which I bought in Japan during studying abroad pass 6 years. Also posses Pioneer MD recordable deck for converting tunes from CD to MD in digital mode.Hence this MD player hook up to Rockford Fosgate front and rear speaker which purchased separately for my ride. The sounds not really satisfied me due to lack of BASS sounds.Plan to fix 4-channel amplifier under the seat for internal Blast and 2-channel amplifier to Boost up the sub-woofer. But according to AB service guy, it is not advisable to do so seems it will effect the power consumption and make the computer signal hair-wire.What say others, any comment ??

How about new E90? Anyone chance their OEM sound system? Is it advisable to change?

HAHA..funny guy, hey, I dun mind...

no doubt, if by adding subwoofers/amplifiers will increase FC, coz you're generally putting weight to the car. other than that fact, i dont think it'll affect the FC.
but i really doubt it will affect the computer system of the E46 to go haywire.. if that's the case, I'm pretty sure a lot of E46 computer system is haywired. lol..

Hi acidburn, i've installed a 4-channel amp in my e46 and so far no probs.. using 2 channel to run my soundstream components up front and 2 channel to run my subwoofer in the boot.. Bass is good and i didnt feel any power reduction at all.. If u want more powerful and solid bass, i suggest u install a monoblock to run your subwoofer.. so far no computer haywires as claimed by the AB dude... if u want, u can add voltage stabiliser to reduce interference...
