Haywire,

Perhaps it will be a good idea to start a new thread " BMW Specialist Workshop for every state". At least when we go for monthly drive or members going outstation and encounter breakdowns, we can seek repairs from the list of workshops.

Can we start a new thread then, or ask Jarance to update that thread with the proper details and sticky it?

My car's Options List

As promised, this is my car's Options List that I got from the mechanic the other day. He gave me a printed off copy, and I asked him to mail me the softcopy but he didn't dare to because he said he isn't supposed to give me this in the first place, it's a dealer-only facility. I had to retype back all of it just for my records.

Now back in KL.

In my quest to beat the massive traffic back to KL from the north, I left my home in Sungai Petani at 4.30am sharp this morning. There was quite a lot of car on the road already.

But I push on, doing 180-200kmh, topping at about 230kmh when a Fiat and an E60 was racing in front of me and not giving way to me at about 200kmh. Paddleshift down and tapaued them both and went on with my life.

Had a near miss when a car pulled out in front of me when I was doing 200kmh and I was nearing his boot. Burned some rubber there, accompanied by some not so nice words by me.

Arrived home in my parking lot in Sri Damansara at 7.03am, just in time for Subuh prayers.

SP to KL, door to door: 2 hours 33 minutes including a stop at a Caltex to buy some drinks and other stuff.

Now trying to calm down and get some sleep.

I forgot something, I cant sleep yet, need to wait until at least 8.30am to let my parents know that I've safely arrived :4:

HM was left in SP with my parents, still in pantang. I was alone in the car, I dont do such speeds when my wife and kids is in the car. Only sometimes when the road is clear and she was sleeping....

Totally forgot that confinement bro:stupid:...me too, hardly stepped hard when car is fully loaded with wife and kids. i miss my JFT simply because i drive my estima for raya trips..cant wait to see her today..

Of cozlah..with new absorber/brakes replacement and with the newly installed ipod/lumidock..sure syiok to travel at that speed..feel like new car maybe..

Bro, wait till 830 to call back your dad? that'sa good one ! hah, takut pun kena marah bawa kereta laju-laju !! hehe

Haha as I said there were a lot of cars on the road this morning, I was using the paddleshift all the way from SP. Accelerate decelerate most of the time, from 200kmh to 120-140kmh depending how fast the car in front change into the middle/left lane.

Dont really wanna call back to my parents to let them know I've already arrived when they said 'bawak kereta elok-elok, jangan laju-laju' at the door! :4:

I dah agak thats why u should call them later than 830am.....hhaha..

Entry 15 was me warming the car up in front of my house, and driving to the Caltex at SP South PLUS exit.

Entry 16 was me driving from the Caltex to my home in Sri Damansara. The -0.560G deceleration is probably when that car pulled out in front of me. Top speed of 228km/h was when I passed the Fiat and E60.

Had a fuel refill, I had used 65.7 liters of petrol during this morning's drive at RM125 for 371km (at quite an enthusiastic drive). Nearly emptied my tank from full. Translates to 17.71 liters per 100 km / 5.65km per litre / 16 mpg.

Note that this was not a smooth maintained speed drive, its mostly accelerate - decelerate due to the amount of cars on the road and I dont overtake on the left unless really necessary due to very stubborn drivers on the right lane.

The car had also had a wash to clean off the mosquitoes and insects at the front of the car.

Did some thinking of what's done on the car so far, sort of a summary of this thread. Months might not be accurate as I type this from the top of my head. Small items are not included.

Had the car in February 2010 from a dealer in Leamington Spa, UK

March - SMG steering retrofit, AV adapters, AV input retrofit, front cupholder retrofit, AUX in retrofit, dash pixel fix (all DIY). Replaced pre-facelift Xenon (on a 2003!!! Grrrrr) with a proper Hella angel eyes Xenon.

April - Installed the BMW fire extinguisher. Updated the Nav software. Reverse camera retrofit.

May - Oil change.

June - Alternator died changed to unbranded alternator in Jedburgh Scotland in the middle of nowhere.

July - Exported the car to Malaysia.

August - Car arrived in Malaysia

October - Paperwork and taxed paid, car came out from Port Klang. Some delays as I only came back from UK late September.

December - Black kidney grille. Dash cluster ring installed somewhere here. Replaced one sport side undertray.

January 2011 - Front wheel bearing - FAG.

February - Power steering hoses and oil changes. Change some belts.

March - Corrected some rust issues on the car. Half painted the car

April - New radiator, thermostat, expansion tank, bloody bleed screw. Did oil filter housing gasket at the same time. Oil change. Front upper arm too. Some belt tensioner and pulleys.

July - Valve cover gasket, Vanos seal replacement, oil service + air filter. Intravee + KCA-420i + Lumidock

August - All absorber struts (Sachs Advantage) along with new mountings, rubber parts associated with it, covers and so on. Lower arm, drop links, tie-rod with new covers. All discs, pads and sensors original BMW. Late August the alternator which was fitted in June 2010 died. Replaced to original BMW Bosch.

Thats all I could remember for now. Bought it in February 2010 with 117,500 miles on. Now it has about 140,000miles (225,000kms) Add another 7,000 miles if you count the distance it travelled in a container to Malaysia.
