Any further news rgd the plaque, Naz? Any problems with the car? Mine has a mysterious clack clack sound coming from the left front passenger side-window or dashboard when I start...like a plastic bit knocking onto a hard surface...but I can't find the source of the sound!! U noticed anything like the same sound from the left front side? :stupid:

I think the problem you described seems like some kinda electronic devices within the dashboard got activated when key fob inserted or vice versa. I've had this intermittent noise since the day i got my ride. 1 on the left while the other is near driver area.

Its really funny Spaceman...it like a plastic knocking sound...and I get it on and of...but always on the left front passenger side...what did BMW sat when you sent your car in?...:stupid:..what is it!!! How can you stand it??

The plague will be arriving next week but i personally allow after cny. I've exp the same sound immediately the engine started but somewhere behind streeing wheel.this didnt happen to my other cars.LCI supposed to b better.:wink:

my 325 LCI seem to have e same sound & i notice tt it starts wen u first turn on e aircond.
its like a faint knocking sound behind e air-cond grill, juz like someone tapping on it.. irritating dude..
after a couple of minutes once warmed up, its gone.

Good question!

But no one has a 3 year old 320d in Malaysia since it was only introduced late last year. Looks like u have to wait for 3 years from now to get your answer..

Few have feedback to me worrying the maintenance will be scary for a diesel engine.. proly they see many black smoke trucks frequent the workshop attempting to fix the black smoke..

Diesel engine is a high torque low rpm engine.. how can a low rpm engine has higher wear and tear then a high rev engine? The rpm is almost triple in a petrol NA engine compare to a diesel engine.. so my guess is the diesel engine is 3x more durable than the petrol engine and its parts cost certainly not 3x more expensive than petrol engine parts.

On top of that, turbo diesel is 3x the fun of driving a petrol 320i.. :top: Stop worrying will y'all! :stupid:

my friend's car has the same prob.. its actually the engine cover rattling. seems like it's from the inside but its actually from the engine bay. SC they took off the engine cover and the sound was gone.
waiting for some silicone tape to be put in now.
