Shucks, I missed a great get together. Hoping to meet you jokers in the next meetup. Btw, I took my E90 to ipoh and back over the weekend, and the car is really fabulous on the highway. Much better high speed stability than the E46 even in stock suspension/wheel settings on the E90.

My observations:
1) below 3k rpms cruising the engine is soo quiet and smooth that you don't hear it at all and you're just gliding by on the highway at over 100kmh
2) car is well planted and surefooted, and less supceptable to heavy crosswinds
3) you don't feel the speed as much in this car as it tracking very well even in high speed and engine is so silent
4) good level of steering and suspension feedback esp in high speed bends. Also the car doesn't understeer as much when pushed through these bends.
5) i finally passed my 2k kms break in milestone and took the engine to redline last night on my way to dinner. On WOT, there is a lovely deep throated roar in the lower rpms pulling to a nice scream in the 6-7k rpm range. The engine is has an interesting Jekyll and Hyde characteristic, as its so smooth and silent on cruising, yet brings out a lovely racey characteristic when you want it. I noticed that most of the character and sound experience is coming from the engine rather than the exhaust area. The M54 E46, a lot of the audible characteristics was from the exhaust area, even when cruising/driving around town. Interesting...

It might have been a small meet-up but I enjoyed myself thoroughly. You guys a bunch of jokers lah. Anyways, I look forward to the next meet-up esp since I'm sure many of you would have loved to join us but couldn't make it. Well, everyone deserves a second chance, heh!

BTW, it's also great to put a face behind KL2DC's nick!

E46F - I totally agree with your findings which confirms my own evaluation of the E90 325i loaner I had for a month. You'll enjoy it more when the engine loosens up further. I still got 50 kms b4 crossing the 2,000 km mark on my E92. So far, the engine seems awfully tight and I would relish stretching the legs a bit. So, you guys can tiong me all you like, come la, sked ah?!!!

Good day mates,

After some long contemplation i finally booked meself a pre-reg E90,.. Well in all honesty I really wanted to get the A4 as my replacement vehicle and didn't even consider the E90 until the gf loaned me her 120i for a month. That being said, I got hooked on the driving dynamics of the bmw and found myself wanting a BMW instead!!

And when I got an offer from Sapura for a pre-reg unit with 18 km's on the clock well it really was a no-brainer!

Insidently, Anyone interested to trade his/her interior aluminum trim for the poplar?
