After using so many car shampoos over the years with almost daily washings, I can say I havent found anything which beats the original BMW Car Shampoo....

Got some close friends to try it too and they now swear by it as well, so each time I go to AB to buy, I also gotta buy for them.. LOL

Its strong enough to rid the grime and grease (from our KL roads and busses) and leaves a very durable layer of protection on the paintwork, which gives a glowing effect as you wash more. Because of this, washing becomes rather addictive

About Rm34 per bottle. Its a huge silver bottle tho. Used to be only Rm20+ a few years back....sigh.

There are 2 types, one is BMW Wash + Wax (Rm40+ smaller bottle), and the other is BMW Car Shampoo. I am referring to the latter one.

a bit confused here, if I use the two in one type i.e. shampoo+wax, does it mean it is adequate and there is no need to wax the car seperately ?? I am talking about mere minimum here !

but of course I will agree that it will be even better to wax on top of the shampoo+wax.

Should I decide to wax the car separately, then it is adequate just to use the shampoo without wax type, any comment ??

Personally, I find that wash + wax does not clean the car as well as say a pure shampoo does. So I prefer to use shampoo and wax occassionally with proper waxing products.

Hi leonard, not to worry, you can either choose BMW Car Shampoo as highly recommended by E46Fanatic or choose any Meguiar's car shampoo, you won't go wrong. More important is to wash your car frequently, especially if you park your car outdoor.

Went to purchase car shampoo at AB Segambut yesterday. Was advised by them that the price will be incresed soon due to our weak ringgit. Was advised to buy more, so i ended up buying 2 bottles lah without trying it out first !!

Try washing it 3 times over the first week and let us know if you see the results after the first week :)... p.s. be prepared to loose some weight from the excercise lol.

Let us know your thoughts...

Yes , washing your car regularly with good car shampoo that does not strip the layer of wax on the paint is the best way to keep the paint clean , glossy and free of spots . More so if your car is black .
I also agree that the 2 in1 wash and wax really take the satisfaction out of washing the car .
I am using Meguire's NXT car shampoo but will definately give the BMW car shampoo a try .
Does it come with a small carrying bag that contain the shampoo , dash cleaner , quick wax ...etc ? saw it in the pbmw mag .

wah, washing it 3 times a week, never done it in my life !! After the first wash, it gives a lot of foam which is good. Whether it make it shinier or not, it quite difficult to tell bcos I just polished and waxed my car about 2 weeks b4 the first wash. But will update on my experience as I use it further !

Yea the bubbles are quite therapeutic ... Good for stress treatment program after a tough week.. :p

i have used bmw car shampoo, mg tech wax and mg gold class shampoo. overall, my vote goes to mg gold class. it's have just enuff cleaning properties to shine your car and maintain the wax. the bmw shampoo is the most abrasive shampoo. i being using that for a while and it does clean VERY well but my wax goes off faster too. tech wax is in between.

another thing i like about mg tech wax and gold class is it last me very very long.

but bmw has now repackage their car care products and it's almost double of the price b4. not worth if there are better products out there. besides, bmw products are oem from sonax anyway...

Yes agree with Elwine.. The BMW car shampoo is the best when it comes to cleaning, compared to MG's but will strip wax along as well. The good thing is that it also layers a very durable gleaming protectant layer over the cleaned surface. At the end it depends on your car care routine. I used to wax the BMW every week and wash it everyday with MG softwash gel (gentler than MG GC), and the wifey's car just BMW car shampoo (no waxing) about once every 3 days or so, and was very surprised with the results of the wifey's car with so little effort put in.

Now I am lazier and more busy and cannot maintain the daily wash cycle, so I switched the BMW to the BMW car shampoo routine as well. The MG wash does not clean as well if you do not do daily washes, you'll see orange peel effects over time on the paintwork unless you are also doing the weekly cleaner+wax routine... If you are young and have the energy to do the hardcore routine, the shine quality will be better of course.
