Dear friends,Im quite new to the E90 325 model and would like to know when is the service interval to change the auto transmission fluid? Mine is a Jap import and running at 24k kms now and was thinking to change the ATF at 25k kms. And also what is the grade of the oil? Dexron 3, J Matic, EtcThanks

Unfortunately you will get different answers from different people on this subject since BMW's official response is that their ATF oil is life-time. You get answers such as 40,000, 60,000, 100,000. I guess 60,000 should be ok.

The same 6-spd gearbox GA6HP19Z is used in both the 320i and 325i and I think you better use the BMW specified ATF if you want to do a change. The part number is "BMW part number 83 22 0 142 516, M-1375.4". I don't think we can use the regular Dexron 3, but the sifus here can probably give a more accurate answer.

Thanks for the reply Rookie.. I just dont trust life time ATF. I will send the car to a pro BMW workshop to get it changed at 30k kms interval.
