How many of us are law abiding citizens, and actually adhere to the 110km/h speed limit on the highways. My guess is many, including I, do not as it is terribly and extremely hard to do so.Therefore, are we no longer considered good citizens because we break every single speeding law there is in the country when we get into our rides onto the highways? Or more precisely to the point, do you not think the 110km/h speed limit is totally outdated and irrelevant because a lot of modern cars are designed to run effectively above 110 and at the same time aren't our highways capable of handling cars running above that speed limit? Every so often on the KESAS, I see myvis, vios and even vivas hogging the fast lane at 110 or 120km/h refusing to give way even after countless of friendly flashes. Eventually, I get 'almost' pissed off but after a split-second of consciousness kicks in, these people are legally right in refusing to give way because there are already traveling at the maximum speed. I, on the other hand, is attempting to break the law by going above the ridiculous 110kh/h speed limit.Many of us buy a higher CC car because of the better HP and Torque, and we are happy to pay for the higher road tax. But then again, what use is paying higher road tax when we can't use the features that we are paying high premium, and by using these 'paid' higher features we are actually breaking the law? Something to think about, doesn't it?

We should follow Germany law but the road and attitude of driver must improve.

Road hogging is wrong. If they are not overtaking, they should keep left.

Guna Laluan Kiri Bila Tidak Memotong.

Isnt that whats on the side of the road

I tried it since the JPJ test to get my license still can't drive 110 but 120 i can lol!.

yes.even if limit is 110kmh,cars should not stay in right lane e.g road hogging.
it is used for overtaking only.

and i usually overtake all the way so i need to stay on the right lane all the way! LOL

I always think that 110 is absurd now.. seeing myvis, vivas and even kancils travelling at such speed in the expressways make me realize that the speed is no longer relevant..Breaking the law? yes i do, and will always do if the speed limit is still the same....but i drive in a very gentle manner in trunk roads where the malaysian and japanese cars rule....

the 110kmh speed limit is obsolete already..it was fixed years back and cars back then are miles away lacking in technology. i'd say the speed limit should be revised

I'll go for a speed limit of 170km/hr anytime... Wouldn't it be fantastic if just for 1 day there is no speed limit at all, and then we can judge whether it is better or worse from the accidents statistics.

...law of physics, pretty much ignoring laws of men(thanks God for that)..that means, even 110km/h sounds 'obsolete' , let me rearange numbers in a little bit more 'easy to understand' manner...in other words 110Km/h = 30.5555556 meters / second.. 30 meters is roughly 10 floors building height..if you jump from 10 floors building, your travel time until hit ground will be indeed longer than 1 sec., while in case of impact at 110km/h, you will got G (gravity) impact instantly....consequences of 'obsolete speed limit' in case of impact, ill leave to you to observe..as for hogging, i can be considered as a 'registered' hogger, as i purposely don't wanna move after i reach cruising speed of 110km/h and engage autocruise..i do that every time with my Range Rover and while that may irritate someone, im actually 'protecting' those road runners...of course they always do overtaking trough slow lanes..while that sounds rude..actually its not..apart from indirect protection for road runners by slowing them down, actual limit of 110km/h has a purpose of highway capacity control..110km/h is ideal speed for given highway capacity, so if everyone holding that limit, it will be no sudden slowdowns or total blocking...whole theory has its roots in fluid dynamics (wave function) and its pretty much based on that (and accurate)..i could demonstrate that but im scared im getting off topic..bottom line is, 110km/h is NOT an obsolete , from few very important aspects, and i like to be hogger.. :)

Averagely i can see a lot are driving between 130-150kph. 120kph is too slow for me

England is trying to increase the speed too.

Exactly, there was a decent proposal in England to increase the speed limit to 129km/hr from 2013 onwards which is the same as the speed limit in USA.
Maybe we should be doing the same.

Actually any of u know for how long we have been using 110kph? Since independence?

I think driving fast can be done in a responsible manner if you know your car's limits and your limits and can be safer than driving slowly and not in full control. I believe road hogging is wrong and you maybe endangering the very lives you are honourably 'protecting' when they are forced to overtake on the slow lane. You can teach your daughter all the religious precepts there are but are you gonna 'protect' her by locking her up with a chastity belt till she gets married?

..I believe that your statement is valid in world of theory..in real world it seems that 'rely on to responsible manner' makes no sense, since Malaysia for instance is pretty much No.1 i car accidents deaths, worldwide, if im not mistaken..also, sole purpose of 110km/h limit is not about cars capability to do higher or not..its about consistent flow of traffic without clogging...equalized flow will cause larger transfer capacity...one goes random (road runners), causing for sure clogging, even it sounds as paradox, considering that its caused by 'speeders'..

haiyaaa......as long as we have idiots on the road who thinks that :

1. the signal stalk is a decorative piece
2. the middle lane is his even tho it's 3 am with no other car on the road
3. they have right of way when merging into the hiway
4. the little SLKs can handle speed when they have a full blown turbo in front
5. the traffic light color yellow means speed up and red means prepare to stop
6. tailgating is a pastime
7. they are 'protecting' road runners by being a road hogger......jeezzzz....!

IKUT KIRI KECUALI MEMOTONG or IKUT KIRI JIKA TIDAK MEMOTONG = Keep Left Unless Overtaking

until we become adults and think like 1st world country drivers.....keep on dreamin' about increasing to above the current 110km/h

most accidents is :

1. overtaking without looking first at your side/rear mirrors - common report in all insurance claims;
2. speeding in the rain;
lastly 3. tailgating as mentioned by moots..

tailgating is very dangerous if you dun know when the car in front of you brakes suddenly... worst if someone tailgates you.
during christmas holidays, i witness 2 accidents within 3 hours, one wham into back of a car by a drivers keeping too close, one Alza tried avoid a waja, slam 45deg into the back...after that a long jam, the another one over a hill/slope at 222 junction, very famous accident place.
