Hi. Just stumbled upon this site and this particular thread as I am also considering an e38 728i. Newbie with BMWs and continental cars, so please be gentle.

Any advice on what to look out for in a used e38 728i?

i have one e38 for sale. year 96'. 740il(previous owner dwngrade to 3.0 roadtax). service done at bomin auto.. all arms new, the EDC is still working, replaced new parts for EDC(accumulator), new rear abs for EDC, new rubber kumho ku31. paint in excellent condition, engine n gearbox running smooth. test drive available at sri manjung/lumut, perak.
