Hai everybody.I`m an uncle lah.At 64+ yrs...baru dapat a janda BMW..,maybe I`m not so lucky as U young guys here huh. It`s an E36 ,318 ending year 1997 model bought it from a friend...a bit pricey at RM 40K over the market value and speedo doing 200,000+ klm.But the car has original finishing look and a good running condition...for now..after 2 moons.I found that this forum is well organized, the Sifus and experts here are technically helpful.I got a problem though...My driving seat could not recline though the up and down and aft.and fwd operate nicely..I found out at the end of cable(Plastic) for the recline mechanism not in place..I fit it in the ori.position, operate it but failed...so wat I did by using a screw driver I adjusted it manually by pushing the gearlike thingy to the required position...problem is I got to take off the seat every time I want to change position(reclining)I need some advice here guys.

welcome to the forum ..can't really understand what you're trying to say here ...end of cable ...what cable is that ...never seen it ...

any pictures ...

dear ICEMAN 13...if u take off the seat, underneath are 3 connecting cables for the 3 control levers at the R/H/Side of the dvr`s seat...it`s the release mechanism as we pull up the lever to suit the desired seating position...i.e for the seat to move front-back, for up-downward and reclining( back rest).I`m talking about the reclining control lever...cable at the end of it a plastic(holder)attached to the release mechanism(a star gear thingy)normally could be seen in cheap Jap.made seat at the side. But for BMW it`s located in the center under neath and fitted on a shaft like a small gear train...heh heh....I`ll to get some photos later..thankz ICEMAN 13.
