Had a oil seal leak fixed today and found out by chance that my alternator bearings were a little rough (grainy feeling when spinned). Had them fixed for MYR 120 on the spot, and on the drive home I felt that the car was somewhat smoother, dashboard light seemed brighter, the sound from mids and tweeters seemed crisper, and pickup almost felt better (almost). It occurred to me that it might have been my imagination, or wishful thinking, or ganja withdrawal symptoms...........but then again, could have been the alternator bearings. Don't know.

Didnt know they could fix the alternator bearings. I once had an alternator which the bearings were noisy...have to change the whole set...where u go to?

bearings is replaceable. change also the carbon brush while you are at it.

Once I tried changing the bearings and thought that it was ok. Bloody hell after 2 months the alternator was charging but OVERCHARGING! The air cond and auto transmission went heir wire. No choice, I bought a recond alternator and it is fine now. :)

Better change bearing than repair. happend to my car in terms of overcharging.
i've actually installed a gadget voltage stabilizer from Iridium and i am definitely feeling a better drive now.

I have two voltage stabilizers installed. One from Pivot, and another crap China made. Yes, it makes a difference.
I honestly don't know what they did to my alternator bearings......change, repair, or jampi bomoh.....all I can say is that they fixed the problem for MYR 130 and I'm pleased with the results :) Hope it lasts.
