Yes the Merc external fuel pump can also be used..but make sure it's the right psi.

Btw, have you solved your problem this morning?

Yup got my fuel pump running again, thanx to zoggee's modic II (aka. whack it and see if it runs). Thats why need sifu's advice on whether to go with ori e30 external pump or retrofit with other brand pump. I heard bosch pump also can use but abit noisy.

anyyone can help on this car still cannot start? Thanks

Problem: Have to take 3 to 5 times to start the engine when engine is warm. Suspected fuel pump pressure low.
Impact: So many time starting engine can spoilt battery and engine starter.

-Bought japanese 1.8 automatic fuel pump (intank) RM170.00
-Make sure it comes with the filter.
-Fuel pump hose. (around 6cm long for modification from original bracket)
-Do a bit modification to fit the original E30 M40 intank fuel pump bracket.
-Problem solf.

Bosch Fuel Pump RM385
Fuel Filter RM45
Fuel Pump Relay RM115
is this price for new or used item. thanks

New price, but since i have all the parts as mentioned and found out that none of the above were faulty, i guess you could try the parts first to see if they are actually at fault. Are you convinced its a fuel supply problem? tyke also had same problem a week back but found it to be ignition coil. Other times it could be spark plug leads, fuses, distributor or in my case just worn wiring. Best you get your mech to check it out, no point guessing. Also it would be good if mech/you have a ohm meter to check.

the wira fuel pump after being retrofitted onto the ori bracket....

in the haste to get it done, I didn't take the 'before' photo....
Fabian I think the cable tie would not last. You can use a Stainless steel hose clip to do the job better. :D

on retrofitted, do we need to send to a mechanic, or we can do it ourself. how difficult it is. how long have you use this wira 1.8, discover any problem?

You can do it yourself if u used to DIY. Not too difficult just need to be creative to retrofitted it. So far already 2 month without any problem.

willing to guide u if u need assistant.

FYI...al models pre 88 is external post 88 internal...
