525d vs 520d

Anyone here have any experience with the 525d? AB selling pre-reg for rm355k. I am about to put the trigger on a 520d. Would appreciate your comments. I plan to keep the car for 5 years if everything goes well. Therefore long term maintenance cost and durability would be the key.Thanks for your forth coming replies

Eh? Is the 525d available in Malaysia? If so, it's definitely worth it for the performance alone! The fun factor is so much better and the price diff is not so much depending on the 525d's mileage. Does it come in better specs?

it was on the autobavaria website. I was quite surprised to see that too. it's package body kit and 18” rim with
M Double Spoke 184 tyres. I will call them up to check. Will keep up guys updated.

Does adding the DTUK/Vector coupled with the Pedal Box invalid the warranty? My apologies for the newbie question.I'm coming from a w211 240
Any url/faq for the DTUK/Vector/Pedal Box?

Just ordered my 520d from quill. Pending loan approval and I am set to GO... The run flats are crap imho. Any recommendation on which tire type? I prefer the soft and cushy feel however I require the tyres not to row the car like a boat when cornering...

ah..a 3 star convert, and a diesel believer too!

tuning boxes or throttle enhancers don't void the warranties...if they remain undetected :4: pull them out before any official servicing.
the best time to install is while you're under warranty, so if any issues arise, they can be addressed by the service centres.

also, the 320d threads have the best info on diesels, and all possible queries have been asked/discussed in the oil burner threads. the dyno results of stock N47T engines enhanced with tuning boxes have also been posted. welcome to the dieselhead gang, and have fun reading, and more importantly enjoying your ride!

Any one with the 520d... how is it? I heard that AB is making the maintanance a lot earlier than usual due to our fuel quality

just got the 520d yesterday. A wonderful drive. The diesel noise is totally unnoticeable in the cabin. As for the maintenance, the cpu show next due is at 15000km but I would send her in for a complete engine oil flush and refill at 2000km - at my own cost. I am a old timer, flushing the oil at 2000km is a must for me. As for the 15000km interval, I stick her in at abt 10000 km. Usually for oil burners, I will send them in about 5000kms. For oil burners, keeping the engine oil fresh and clean is the key to a trouble free engine life. That's my take anyway.

Any 520d owners sending in their car earlier than the stipulated CPU recommendations? Any recommended oil renewal interval for 520d in view of the malaysian diesel quality?
