yesterday, when i wanted to top up the touch and go at the petronas station, there's a new ruling of a 50cents fee.. WHAT S.HIT CRAP IS THIS ? first, we get to have a lane for t&G, then the service is bad, cars getting stuck, not enough lanes, this service should be free instead of charging, what's the use of using it, when i have pay more when it's a service to the public ? even not to car uses, even the lower income that's uses T&G on the LRT has to pay ? dun no what they will think next.. this monoplizing everything when is no competitor.. to hell with them..

yeah...dont topup at petronas and maybank and bcb...they all charge rm 0.50. topup at the toll booth or plaza toll office.

> dun no what they will think next.. this monoplizing everything when is no competitor..

read today's newspaper.... Guthrie, Sime Darby and Golden Hope going to be eaten by small company....

This is normal lah. If you top up at any bank ATM, they also charge you for the service. Only free if you do it at the T&G counter or at the highway that shows top-up lane.

Similarly, you also get charge for using another bank ATM to draw money.

Sinagapore also same lah.. You will be charge 50 cents if you go to 7-11 to top up your autopass.

If you think 50sen is bad, wait till you use a the TnG which you can debit from your credit card account. They charge you a whopping RM2.00 extra just for topping up each time.

50 cents for a topup. thats kinda normal le.. just hate it when they charged u extra for parking in complexes when u use yr TnG.. tats very unfair...

its suppose to be convenient sake, instead u are being charged for it.. nonsense!

since when petronas imposed the 50 cents charge.. i top up last time n din get charge for it.. lucky me..

Convenience, costs... *sigh*

the 50cents that Maybank or Petronas charges might be required to cover their operating cost when providing this "new"service to customers.

But the 1% charge imposed by the shopping malls when u pay with TnG is really unreasonable - after all, the malls will benefit in the long run since they can reduce the no. of carpark ticket machines or ticket payment counters manned by humans, which in turn save them costs ! It is also beneficial to their customers, as it is definitely a much more convenient way to enter or leave the carpark, u don't have to remember to bring the ticket before you leave your car or remember to pay before you get in your car.

The T N Go facility in shopping malls are provided by a third party company. The company supplies the equipment and hence the additional 10 cent surcharge. The 10 cents is then split between the shopping complex owner and the equipment provider.

To me, if the 10 cents is too much too pay, then use the existing facility. As long as people are given options, I think its fair.

the 10cents might be required to offset the cost of 3rd party supplier, but the issue is not about the amount of money, it is about passing the cost of convenience to the consumer and even ask the consumer to pay for what would be savings to the shopping malls.
this I find very hard to swallow:mad:

just like the recent case of Syabas raising water tariff in Klang valley & Putrajaya - the reason they gave was more funds are needed to upgrade and maintain facilities so that the users would have consistent & clean supply of water.
Isn't this the most basic requirement such company must fulfill before embarking on a water supply venture? the reason to raise funds to provide such basic service is again passing the cost to consumers, who are not demanding for superb services, but only basic clean & consistent water supply.

i think the consumers in M'sia should stand up to such bully tactics from large corporations - whether private or government.

just my 2 cents..... i would definitely choose not to pay the addtional 10 cents, although its only 10cent.

With all due respect, the Syabas and Touch N Go issues are two entirely different animals.

Can you choose not to pay for the additional water tariff hike?? No you cant, unless you are prepared to live nearby a river. Likewise similarly, the recent hike in TNB tariff in which TNB themselves are screwed royally by the independent power producers (IPP) in a lopsided agreement and hence the cost is passed to consumers like you and me. Do you have a choice? Not unless you are prepared to live like Fred Flintstone.

Yeah, I agreed with you that Malaysians should stand up to all these nonsense, but what can we do??? I am not prepared to live like Fred.

I agree with you AL, but when I have a choice I'll choose to make a stand.

To prevent such strong arm tactics from happening more and more in this country(b'cos we've no alternative choice), consumers should learn to be more vocal on their dissatisfaction. It is a vicious cycle - the more we keep quite, the more such unjustice will happen to us, and the more frequent we are left with no choice...
