Just joking ya, I'm not encouraging anyone to break the law!

Where to get those la? I wan for front & rear plate

Kancil overtaking along fast lane but due to lack of power and torque, the rate of acceleration is slow and it takes at least one whole minute to overtake the "slower" car travelling at 109.5km/h, Kancil exactly on 110km/h. Like that consider road hogging?

To me, its not hogging. Just slow overtaking. i normally let them overtake first because feel we need to respect them also lah..unless he's not overtaking and driving in the right lane..

I'm cool with it, as long as they signal and acknowledge we are coming up from behind by quickly signalling to the left after overtaking. But those who switch lanes to the overtaking lane without signalling, pisses me off the most.

When i'm on the overtaking lane and a fast car comes up, like fadhlan's or baileys, or the Ms, i will signal quickly and quickly give way. What happens next? Rempitttttt... Hehe

A long long time ago, and this is a true story, in my younger, more reckless days, I drove my E65 up the North South Highway (I've not driven to Malaysia for the past 2 - 3 years). I was humming along, steady as she goes, at 110km/h, when I saw this garang looking Waja gaining rapidly in my rear view mirror. I was in the outer most right lane (the 'overtaking' lane), and I was overtaking a whole convoy of heavy goods vehicles & trucks.

With no way to squeeze into the left lane, I did the only thing I could to avoid an accident - I accelerated. No, actually, I gawddang floored it. 130km/h came, then 150km/h, then 170km/h - and the Waja was still gaining on me. When the speedo hovered around 200km/h, the left lane cleared, and I quickly pulled to the left. I was cursing under my breath, thinking, which speed demon would wanna tailgate a Bimmer?

When I looked over to the right lane to take a peek at the Waja's driver, to my surprise, it was a Polis car - and the driver waved at me and continued speeding on - at least 220km/h!

I didn't get a ticket, but I sure kept to 110km/h for the rest of my journey that day!

Hahaha Wobbles nice one la. Lucky you didn't give him finger. If not sure got love letter. Those police car are not stock standard engine. Got some tweaks here & there. Plus the driver normally got big ball. Eh u said garang looking waja?
Dun tell me its EVO! Actually many cars can reach 200kmh but how stable and handling in case of emergency? My fully mod Wajalution was braking hard wt rear swearve a lil when suddenly bus turn to right lane at speed of 170kmh.
After I made up my mind. That is it Ultimate Driving Machine here I come. Another incident was following Nissan Fairlady at 180kmh suddenly his car swerve and hit the middle barrier and stop in the middle, My E39 has no issue braking in time & calmly pass to emergency lane. Whatever we do drive safely according to situation.

did u see him sweating? if yes, means he was rushing to the nearest toilet. :D

Bro, I was the one sweating - I just survived a race with the Polis, and all I got was a friendly wave, instead of a saman!

I have a different encounter. I once coming back from Kuantan on the Karak Highway, A waja was cruising at 110km/h at the right lane. I did not like to overtake from left so i flashed at the Waja but he just ignored me. after 1 minute i got fare up and i kept flashing at him every 5 second. finally after another minute, he decided to give way.

I duly accelarate to overtake him. and as i was overtaking him, i looked to my left to look at the driver and i discovered, to my horror, that Waja was a POLICE CAR!!!

Two policemen sitting inside staring at me! I "slowly" increasing my speed" to pull away. luckily they never stopped me for summon.

Now when i saw Waja hogging i just follow their speed...he he

Since everyone is telling stories..

Last year while driving down (or up?) to Kuantan, there is a stretch of road which is mostly straight and largely unlit. This road is only 2 lanes wide. I was driving at approx. 110kmh however I did give way to other cars (read myvi & viva's) when they flashed to pass.

Then, I saw a very bright light on my right wing mirror...look in my rear view but didnt see any headlights. After several ten's of seconds the bright light appeared & disappeared several times. I was clueless what was going on, so I moved to the left lane to slow down...to my surprise a Persona pass me at the speed of sound (literally). That means the Persona was so close to my E36's bum, that the headlights could not be seen in my rear view.

Precision driving that was.

Suddenly scenes of Initial D (ori anime) flashing in my mind...

Hungry ghost festival sprung to mind!!!

Just read through the whole thread.

IMO the 110km/h speed limit should be maintained as it takes into account the worst case scenario. The most incompetent driver, the poorest tires, etc. are accounted for in the speedlimit. Not everyone is a good driver with good cars and big brakes.

Hogging the right lane is just plain stupid. As others have said, the law dictates that the right lane is only for overtaking. If there are no cars in the middle lane and you continue to hog the right lane it just makes you as bad if not worse than the 'speeders' out there.
Roadhogs either have an ego problem (can't give way to a bigger or faster car) or are self-righteous idiots. If I break the law by speeding, the police can stop me by all means. It is not up to self-righteous members of the public to attempt to enforce the law by breaking other laws. Don't justify your own issues of roadhogging with non-sensical arguments or justification. If there is a car coming up behind you at 180km/h, you are not 'protecting' anyone by hogging the lane. If the car behind cannot stop in time you risk causing an accident that may affect other motorists minding their own business.

PS: Ecco, if you are in your Range Rover hogging the right lane with an empty middle lane expect a barrage of hi-beams, horns and the finger from a speeding Porsche Cayenne.

Well said Maxx!

I encounter these everyday in Sg road.
Everyone seems to be hogging the right lane and worst of all, you will always see the second and third lane being relatively empty....
