yes buy buy.................. 6 pot can become 8 pot one extra 2 pot.. :D :yahoo:

4 pot is good for city drive coz it is lighter and cheaper maintainance, powerr wise not really feel much diffrent in city drive on when u drive on highway and FLAT FOOTER U WILL notive the extra. your choice bro

Well said tkew...

Chubby...i wan more than 2 pots. I want more saucepans, woks, bakingpans, knives, forks, spoons, etc.Hahaha. :D

vinson....aiyoooo..u want fork and spoon all...u stressed is it..dont worry bro...i belanja u burger special la like dis :D

6 potters :D

:yahoo:

why a ci? why not i? for the price you can get 325i onwards, more displacements just as beautiful but more powerful. like most that have said here with no disrespect a 318ci will just make you regret. 320ci is better but a 325i? even better.

Just comparing for you since you have the budget for a ci means you can go for the sedan, a few members here have done up their e46 sedans up very nicely and i bet they are just as happy, why buy a 318ci or 320ci for that matter and later complain bout lack of power when you could have afforded better?

or maybe i am going this the wrong way and you want the looks of the coupe then.. buy a 320ci if you have a choice or put on an M sticker from what i read in the forums here adds 100hp

Good luck in your search for your UDM

Mr Samdol has a point there. If there is no dire need for 2 doors you can get more displacement in the engine. For more doors, you get bigger displacement. Looks like you got yourself in a catch-22 situation. :yahoo:

Doors Vs Engine cc
More doors = more cc*
Less doors = less cc*
*Note: Assuming it is around the same price. :yahoo:

The decision is yours. :yahoo:

Hi selvahraje46,

Not only do you get 28hp more. You get 2 extra cylinders, ventilated disc brakes at the rear. But most importantly you get a 5 speed steptronic gearbox. The extra torque and hp will be useful when you need it. :yahoo:

Furthermore, 318i has 2 version of engines 1.9L or 2.0L with Valvetronic. :yahoo:

So, coming from a person who owns a 4-potter, please get a 320 with a 2.2L engine. But of course, the decision at the end of the day is yours. :yahoo:
TRUE TRUE.

But above all, you get to experience the in-line straight six and silky smooth revs that
made BMW what it is today. The 4 pot is a watered down version.

But if you don't particularly need a Ci, than go for the sedan 325i. Best bang for buck.

Agreed with scin BMW 2.5 L straight six is indeed a sweet engine. A balance of smoothness and power. :D :yahoo:

Selve...kesiannnnn man you...what a predicament ur in :D

Dont worry....when u get ur E46..whatever it may be...I'll treat u to a burger :D

:yahoo:

vinson, tkew, MRsamdol...
well u guys have helped me to narrow down d choices to 320Ci..good words and advise there...

325i..sounds good for the power...but i guess my initial goal is to get a coupe since there's always me n wifey to be only...and since she has recently purchased a sedan car....the thought of owning coupe could be a reality for me..hehehe....

but lookin at what scin has put it on words...i'm in a DILEMMA ready...meaning that.. is the 320Ci UNDERPOWERED?i mean obviously we could not compared or judge the power to a M/// or 325i but to the guys who are using a 320i..2.2 i'm sure the power is ther..Right?

thanks bro's...dapat d car ready belanja all of u guys burger!

there was an unreg 320ci in taman megah please look into it, if its still there ask for sub 160k and stand by it (150k maybe and see where the dealer gives in). If not for my friends i would have got that particular car and not be so pokai. A claimed 170hp is by no means underpowered.

a word of advice it took me 6 months to look for my car so there is no rush, its especially hard to find a ci and a 320ci is quite rare. please do your research and remember its your right to have a workshop do a full diagnostics on the car before agreeing to purchase.

Good luck

Selva...on a serious note..try not to get a Jap spec Ci....no offence to current owners of Jap specs Ci's...the thing is...certain things may be of dismay to you...main thing that most UDM's owners have a problem with not only the Ci's but also the saloon is the radio...it only tunes to a certain frequency...i know this may be a small thing to most people but it isnt to me personally...spend all that amount of money n cant even tune in to my fav local radio station...tak puas hati la like dat :D
easiest way to tell Jap car..number plate mounting plate front and back is SQUARE...local CKD or CBU from Europe should are the same...the front n back plate mounting is wide...:D

Just something for u to ponder bro :D

Oh yea..when u get ur ride...im keeping u to ur word for the burgers! :p
Just kiddin bro.. :D

:yahoo:

Chubs, get an iPod la... no need radio! hehehehe

BTW there is a signal booster for bout 150 bucks, so that you can tune into local FM. Just that the readout
of the frequency won't tally. But once you have preset it, no worries la.

scin..hehhehhhe...true....true...ipod got oredi :D
good to know that such things are around for those with jap specs... :D

:yahoo:

320ci should be adequately powered for town and highway driving.... unless going to ulu yam on a sprited drive........then even a 318/320/323/325/328/330 can feel underpowered.......thats when a M3 comes in.........but even then there are M3 drivers looking for additional power.....

Test drive the 320 on a mixture of town and highway driving with 2 persons on board........ it is sufficent power.......

On the plus side....roadtax for 2.2 is about RM700, 2.5 RM900, 2.8 RM1800 and 3.0 RM2250.......

Happy hunting....

bmwcar..well said bro :D

scin, saw ur shots of ur car..mind telling the location of those shots :D

:yahoo:

From my experience for jap and euro specs

Jap specs are usually lower mileage maybe due to the car being used as a weekend car but the specs is always low, i notice a lot of 318ci are usually japan specs.

Uk specs are always weather beaten check undercarriage due to the salt during winter and the mileage higher but specs always fullly loaded with goodies.

above informatiaon might differ from car to car, so like i said previous posts you need to search for the right ci and take your time no rush.

Anyways selva i fully understand the desire in your pursuit of buying a ci so good luck and hope you find your dream car.

chubby..never really notice about the number plate mounting..n thanks for d info...will observe it next time when i go n view a car...well music is really important to me so i guess i'l need to check d ICE also next time...but then again therz my ipod..hehehe..n burger takda hal....anytime..

MRsamdol..its true that most of d jap specs is low in mileage coz most of the ones that i have viewed is low mileage..n very few UK specs to notice coz according to the salesman..normally UDM lovers grab fast on this units... guess i gonna take 6 months also if i'm lucky enuff:angry:

bmwcar..well at least its good to knw tat a 320Ci is sufficient power..and of coz i have tot about d roadtax...guess better then paying for a 3.0 v6 accord..heheh..but to bad i'm a UDM lover...

scin:love ur car man...

so guys...what are the main things tat i should look out for if i really buying d car?anyway burger is stilla promise..heheh
