Diff Between E46 Ci UK & Japan Spec

Bros, hi. I'm thinking of getting one of the CIs but need to know the diff between the UK and Japan Specs in terms of engine, std accs & options. Hope you brothers can shed light on some of these info or point me to somewhere on the web where i can locate...What is the diff between UK and Japan Spec?Are these all (318Ci, 320Ci, 323Ci, 325Ci) 6 cycls? and running on double vanos?Which comes with Steptronic box, multifunction steering, sunroof, electric seats.Importantly are there any issues with these CBUs compared to our local models from AB like parts, maintenance & warranties?What is the power/torque to fuel consumption comparisons for the models above? Is there a glaring diff from the 318 to 320 to 323? Anyone who owns one care share his/her experience.Appreciate all feedback and reviews here. Thanks in advance bros.

Official UK peak engine power specs are rated slightly lower on paper... Also some of the fellas here have done "real world" tests to confirm that from what I was told...

Ah i C so its just like the other makes of CBU as well. UK specs are always less power compared to Japan specs. I guess it's probably the fuel grade and ECU setting likely. UK fuel quality is shitty compared to japan but ours is much superior.

So does this mean that we need to retune the Japan Spec for local use to suit our fuel grade in order to avoid 'knocking or early detonation', just like the other makes? Any idea which shop does this?

Generally from what I have observed in the search for my car.... Japanese spec cars thend to be more well equipped and have much cleaner interiors and undercarriages...

I am also still hunting for 320Ci/325Ci....

From what i find out during my search....

UK spec do come with higher spec compare to Japan spec...

ie, most of Uk spec car do have electric seat, sunroof, multifunction steering...and less on the japan spec car...

but japan spec usually get better wear (ie. leather seat condition) compare to the Uk spec...

and from the price UK spec usually higher a bit....

the 318Ci come with 4 potter and six potter for the others....

and mostly.. all Ci in Malaysia come with steptronic...

HI I dont know if this helps. A friend of mine was recently shopping for one. The guys at EOA showroom . The used car lot near Kontena Nasional in Sunway are very good with the facts. Maybe you should try to talk to them to. They have been dealing with these models quite a bit.

the only thing i know about UK vs JPN spec is

a) UK spec has higher specs compared to JPN spec

B) UK spec car's undercarriages would show signs of rustiness due to 4 seasons as compared to JPN specs

c ) As for engine , ecu , i have no idea as one forummer had mentioned , difference in power output / ? no idea.

d) Interior wise usually JPN specs cleaner due to the fact that cars in japan are not driven for long before sold elsewhere as compared to UK specs.

e) 330ci ..well if you have NCB of 55% , only 2500+ insurance + road tax 2042 ..thats it ..if you dont have NCB like me , rm 5228 for insurance...its much more worth getting the 330ci compared to 325 / 328 as the price difference amounts to around 60k ? but what you get is power and exclusivity though....maintenance would differ as well ..

I'd rather opt for less power and low maintenance as preference. I currently drive a 328i e36 and yes power is there on the tap but most often don't need the additional ummpph.

If its power and performance i'd rather go for a jap pedigree.
