Brader Jigo Please take note that we are using the Raub / Sungei Koyan Route to Cameron Highland. So I assume that on the way back to KL ,U will break journey at Tapah to continue to Penang. Correct me if I am wrong.

Please bring your walkies (and chargers), check your cars (tyres, water, etc.) prior to departure, and bring anything you may need along the way (drinking water, flashlights, etc.).

Dear All,

I just done another reconnaissance on the route yesterday. At Sg. Koyan, there are 2 petrol stations that you can make refuelling and toilet stop (both on your right) and after that there will be approximately 78.5km of hilly route without any mobile network coverage/toilet before reaching Ringlet Town.

Counting from the T-junction at Sg. Koyan to the newly opened road leading to Ringlet, landslide leading to closure of road (detour/diversion) is approximately 26km and a cave-in at 30km (on opposite road). Another major cave-in at approximately 55km (JKR had erected new red warning sign, please pay attention). This is where I mentioned earlier where the opposite lane being closed completely, leaving the Ringlet bound lane + emergency lane.

Please drive carefully.

Can those Motorola domestic walkie talkie be synchronised to a common frequency/channel so that everyone in the convoy can listen/talk to each other? Sorry for side tracking, just sibuk asking only....

I have no idea too. Yet to take part in any drive..... but I do have a set of those cheap domestic Motorola walkie talkie which capable to switch channels. Anyway, I think Uncle Lamoo is the best person to answer or anyone with convey drive experience.

Brader Stig, A set of walkie to buy is Wei Wei , Puxing and TYT from China (450-470 MHz) which can be bought at Jalan Pasar. These are good enough for Drives. Do not buy the imitation Kenwood units.

Brader Morrogan It all depends on what frequency we use but at present we are using the wave band of 469975 MHz which I believe the cheap domestic Motorola might not be able to tune to. You could try to tune it to this wave band but anyway bring it along on that day and see if it can be used.

Depending on majority we will decide our decent from Ringlet to Tapah after lunch.

Total Distance : Approx 400km
