Yes geran is under Pengarah Kastam, so that they can sell the car 'legally' to a third party (this case, you - also the paper trails on how the car came to be auctioned and became into your possession). Once its sold, you as the 'new' owner have to change the name in the geran to your name. correct? Hence the normal process of changing name i.e. inspection at puspakom n then registering it at jpj.

AFAIK Custom will give whatever necessary to change name
of course there is a procedure that need to follow

but as per BMW owner here, is 35k for 318 '01 worth it?
because when i survey through public auction, the price is around 30-40k, spec almost the same
but i dont know la the condition
but for this i get to start its engine but no time to test the gearbox

wanna ask, besides the expensive gearbox, what are the problems that many encounter on this model
manual tranny, is it 6 speed

6 speed manual are rare but 5 are possible. If am the new owner I will do the followings even they not broken

1. Change ATF fluid and filter
2, flush engine and do liqui moly jet clean
3. Change coils and plugs
4. Change absorbers
5. Change tires and do proper alignment
6. Change fuel filter
7. Change all cooling parts not just radiator, expansion tank, water pump, thermostates, hoses, and many more
8. All under the car rubber parts
9. Service your aircon also check carefully as this is another costly repair if rosak
10. Change all brake pads and rotor wz ori if they are worn. Change the brake fluid with ori too
11. Make sure all lights are working and replace with ori osram bulbs if possible
12. Full check of electrical wiring especially cars alarm are modified, or your sound system are no longer ori. Simple wiring mistake can make you go crazy and burn your pocket. Check the fuses and relays
13. Make sure ACS and ABS are working

All the above are for your safety!!


Important make sure the care never met any major accident ya. Also if it come with sunroof it means your roof was cut , bad quality work may cause water leaks and insurance company have the rights not to pay you if you got into accident.

I think this is the same car offered to me. From my friend here. There are 3 units of E46. 1unit white colour & 2 unit black colour. Am i rite mr. Laut?

IMHO, 35k for a 75k km, 2001 E46 in normal circumstances is considered a good bargain.
But in your case, you need to spend 35K for car + 10~15k (estimation) for repairs since the car has not been used for long time + insurans and regisration.
To sum it up it will cost you around 45~50k to get the car in pristine and worry free condition.

Browse around in mudah, see what 50k can get you nowadays. just my 2 cents.

It might be a lot but they are important maintenance especially when you purchased a 12 years old car moreover its left unattended for a long period of time. Its a love affair and who say having a sexy girlfriend is cheap LOL!!

there is no sunroof on this model, so i dont have to worry

upon receive the car, can anyone highlight to me what must do
prior to as above recommended thing
what i think of is..

1. suck out the remaining petrol (anyone can advise how??)
2. change lube oil
3. change coolant??
4. change fuel & air filter??
5. change ATF?? (anyone can advise how to check ATF whether need to change??)
6. inspection of electronic parts such as relays and fuses

errr.. M43 engine dont have individual coil. just change the spark plugs will.
