No any shops have experience on install GPS tracking security system on f10? I am looking for this.... someone please sharing, thanks

i think some insurance like tokyo marine insurance have a package for this under their vehicle insurance and security it cost additional 2k for 1st time or something and they waive 1st year sim card charges, second year onwards its around 500 ~ 600 per anum or something.

but my recommendation is use back BMW one if you really one as the f10 too much electronic. later outside ah being installer make mistake and void your warranty for electronic gone case . since the f10 have so much gadget.

Probably easier to just stick to the 1-to-1 Alliance insurance package. If the car really gets stolen (touch wood) I'd rather get compensated fully and not ever see it again.

ya i heard a case in puchong area , this guy has gps tracking , he went to shop to buy some stuff when come out 10 min later car got stolen, called the tracking company and they file report and yada yada 1.5 hour later the police arrive with tracking team to this warehouse/factory . burst in and found his car stripped to chassis already. so total lost .

What if it is a hijack with your kids/parents/wife/husband inside the car? A gps tracking system will definitely come into handy in this case.

Captor Netstar is quite good. They're using gps/gsm/rf to track your car. Its got an anti hijack/panic button installed too, for any hijack situation.

I believe one has to be realistic about the situation, if such occurrence occur, would the hijacker keep the family member in the car long enough to track and respond?

How fast does the team actually responds, anyone ever experienced the usage of this type of service? I'm rather curious to know as well.

Sometimes it's not so much about tracking the location of the car, but rather about giving an immediate command to the response center and immobilize the car at once at the instant your car is hijacked. In the incidence reported in this link http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2011/11/29/nation/9995060&sec=nation , the father could have used the service to stop the car to save his child from being hijacked together with his car. It must be up to the driver to be vigilant and never let our guard down. especially our precious is on board, for f10 , you can do this take the FOB with you when get out of car and Lock the car. while engine is still on , the idrive will just give warning , NO REMOTE , ENGINE START NOT POSSIBLE. and it will go away when our FOB is near back , been using this method now when i go bank/tapau and my wife is in the car.

Yes, the main concern is the family member in car. I want to install mainly for human security reason because we still can track the location and at least can do something rather no idea where the car and the family member is.... isn't it?

I think you can ask captor or BMW cuz you may void warranty if not approve by BMW

Thanks for advise, anyway just wondering any f10 owner installed this tracking system and which is good brand and good installation workmanship, if anyone, please share. Tan

why dun you ask the service center people for aftermarket non bmw . maybe they can point you to the right direction.
