Hello Brothers, Just Want To Know Why My E39 Will Have Whistle Noise Everytime I Start It In The Early Morning Or After My Engine Get Cold. The Noise Will last For 1 Minutes Untill My Temperature Gauge Goes Up To Quarter. Is There Anybody Experience This Symptom Before??? Let's Share Some Comment, Thanks.

1st check ur belting aircond,or the alternator belts,,maybe wear n tear already,,,then check the oil pump sensor faulty,,takut minyak naik lambat to the engine,,but i think i u rev the car 10times the noise will go away...if not be prepare ur pistine ring sudah lapuk,,time for top overhaul,,but still can used, til it stop,,and lastly check ur oil level engine,,sometime leaking ,ur engine level low, minyak tak cukup naik kerana sikit sangat,,pls acknowlegede , i cuba tolong maner yg mampu bro..kena diagonictics dulu regards tq d

I Already Check & Replace All The Things You Mentioned Above. My Engine Is Fine As It Has Only Done 70k.

I Will Check It Throughly With My Mechanic Next Few Week. I Check The Other BMW Forum, They Said It Could Be The Secondary Air Pump Located At The Front Engine, Below Radiator, It Might Be Faulty.

Appreciate Your Comment & Nice To Know You Too

maybe THEY R rite,,,,.sometime screw or bracket loose got tis promblem,,just start the car morning in ur garage,,,look closer to the engine,,and try to feel the car vibrations...check the fan tooo area...but stil go for diano 1st,,, then we see how from there...pm if u need more help gladly but next 2 days no around bro regards tq d

I am not sure this is same as mine, the early morning engine sound is always louder than usual, a bit like plane about to take off.. hahaha... and I have checked with the mechanic, he said no big deal, there is a heater/blower especially design for Europe weather when you first start up, that help to provide the hot air to heat up the engine faster, so, that is why it is louder than usual during morning start, I am not sure how valid is this.. maybe someone can share more..

Your car is likely to have a little "cylinder/cannister" looking thing in the hood with a hose to the engine...its used to warm up the engine on cold starts. The whistling sound is that little thing trying to warm up your engine..the noise stops when the engine is warm "enough" for it. If you want the noise to stop, just "lock" or "plug" the hose... this is M'sia, there's no need for an extra thingy to warm the engine up...

it's the exhaust valve next to cylinder no.1, it's looks like a trumpet, stainless steel component...it helps on the cold start and increases on the warm up procedure..
