help!!!! engine shaking on cold start

anyway, M3addict,

how's your car now? care to share the outcome?

my car was on the 72k km point, when suddenly the engine vibrating really badly especially in the morning. It became worse when I had to go outstation and left the car not started for more than 5 days. Same thing, RPM was like yours. And the symptoms disappeared when the engine is running at normal temperature.

Initially i ignored it, until after 2 months when my Check Engine Light suddenly turned on with the vibration. Finally found out my ignition coil in Pod 5 was the cause. Ended up changing the coil at #5 and the all the spark plugs. Was advised to change all the coils, but then wallet a bit light that time. They changed with Bosch coils since there were some issues with Bremi coils previously.

Then no more vibrating. However, around one month after changing the new coil, slight vibration started to be felt again (and check engine light came on again). Finally sent to Auto Bavaria, and wot they did was just reset my adaptations and now no more problem. They said I just need to drive the car more often.

Great DIY but ive read from another forum and heard from mech ... if its not broken do not touch it you may just reduce its life??

Bro,

You have just saved RM 500 or more coz you DIY on your MAF. If you are not the DIY person and sent your car to workshop, mechanic will say change ignition coils, spark plugs, sensors and etc etc. FYI, most mechanic won't bother to clean your MAF and they rather tell you to change to new one.

Hai everyone, mine also had this problem. After i read this thread plus all posibility been remove the problem still there except to clean the MAF(i dont have idea on this), hopefully this will resolve the problem. But i dont know to DIY so i will bring to my mech to clean my MAF
