I have no idea about the actual cost, maybe about RM20k+ for stage 1. Engine life time for sure will be shorter.
woww.....some more has few stage?? engine life will be shorter?? it will damage the engine in long run is it?

All else being equal the E46 325 can't touch a CTR, not even on a track. It's also unfair to compare as both cars are a lot of years apart and serve different purpose. However, the CTR does a cool 6 or so secs to the century whilst the E46 325 takes about 7+ secs. The CTR has awesome handling, it's built as your 'daily use track car'. To bring the E46 to a point it will match a CTR will cost a decent amount of money. Boost engine, brakes, suspension ...

If you want a bit more kick maybe can drop by ExoticMods in Kota Damansara, last time I popped by they say can remap ECU for E90 325 for another 20hp. Its tempting but again need to see dyno la ... Cost is reasonable too approx 3k.

With an extra 20hp perhaps you can give the CTR a run for its money. :)

Depends really if the 325 have a manual/SMG gearbox and M-Sport suspension it can definitely give the CTR a run for it's money ... Having said that i agree with your assessment the CTR is basically a track car for the roads ...

Increase 10% then life time less 10%, extra 50% hp then life time less 50%... Lol.... Mayb some expert can explain?

yup....actly i realized that bro...but just hati panas only.....anyway have u done your car to the kota dmnsara wshop for remap?

Shah ... I am tempted but my E90 is new and not worth taking the risk on warranty being a BMW. For me the E90 325 needs another 30hp for a fun daily driving car and 50hp for spirited driving. If it can push to 300hp them will be awesome fun! Mau try ker?

...i dont think u should take that risk bro...mine is e46 warranty whole life...hahahah...no la. no more warranty and thats y im tempted into it.the only thing i curious rite now is, d side effect after doing the remap?? will it shorter the engine life very fast or what?
yup....im totally agreed wit u...it suppose to has xtra 30 hp but ...huhuhuhuuuu

Shah ... Extra 20hp will not kill the engine. Even without the extra if you tarik to 6k all the time engine pun lemas la. Again, like my E90 325 up to Genting via Ulu Yam and Camerons via Simpang Pulai dah cukup la. No need to be hero, just enjoy the handling and dah ade cukup power nak overtake the slow cars. Of course if got extra 30 hp lagi syiok. Still need to see how good they remap and where the torque peaks. Faster go do yours, I want to see the results! Kakaka ...

Shah, saw your thread on the ECU remap. Do share the results......thanks.

bro, i believe an ecu remap won't have much side effects to your engine..all engines are over-designed and over-built with certain safe working factors..remaps and some other minor mods will gain power that are well within the tolerance and capability of the engine and other related components..the only thing that may shorten the life of your engine is putting in a supercharger/turbocharger..tu pun kalau overboost beyond the recommended pressure..

for me, it is recommended to do other performance mods first, last skali baru remap..coz the remap will then take into account all your other mods and optimize them to get the best end result...normally the contributing mods are those air intake and exhaust related ones..btw, just a quick check in your quest for more power: cold air intake/filter dah upgrade? lightweight pulleys? okada plasma coils? intake manifold? exhaust extractor? sprint booster (for more accelerator response)?

good luck bro :top:
