After 27 years of driving Japanese cars (first is Honda Accord, then another honda accord, then Toyota Camry), I finally got my first BMW (F30) last month. I have been driving each of my previously owned car for minimum 9 years, my this lastest BMW will definitely going to take me for another minimum 10years. So I guess BMW will be the last car I will buy, unless my child want to buy me a 7 series. It is totally different in feeling when driving a continental car as compare to Jap car.

Share history of the cars I ve owned

Started with my sis's Proton Iswara 1.5I Auto in apple green. Great car, spacious, good pick up, pretty reliable and Had tons of fun in it-( any car is fun at the age of 17 ). After sis left to UK for study, Dad traded the 18 months old iswara for a Satria GTI, Those days, the GTI was a real bad ass car. Looks super sleek, nice interior and handling was so much more better than the iswara. Kept the car throughout College and first year of Uni until it went through an accident against a W123 Mercedes. The front were damaged but not totalled, drove the car for another few more months and dad changed that to a Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8G.

I loved my Altis and gave it the best pampering a student can afford. I serviced the car religously with UWM at every 5k and only pumped Shell V power, (it was 1.50 Ringgit per litre then) Kept the car til I went oversea to further my study, I bought a Audi A4 b5.5 1.6 5 speed Manual. fun car with very good built quality, one of the best so far. Cant complain much as it only cost me 5k Pounds( Dad's money again) Upgraded to S4 Wheels and the car was as good as it looks but lack the oomph... 9 Months later, i traded in my A4 to a 3 years old E46 318CI with most of the bell and whistle for its class, Sports seats, suspension, etc..Paid 10.5k for it and I once again upgraded the wheels to 18 Inch Style 32 radial..This little bimmer is great fun despite older engine with only 115bhp but the 5 speeder was a must for such car, I thought the Satria GTI was taut and fun but not as close to my little Bimmer then.. This would be the longest ownership I have thus far and had kept it for 4 years,

When I finally step out to the society and started working, I have saved up a decent amount with locums and calls to buy my ultimate chealsea tractor X5 3.0I. That was an uber cool car for a 25 year old lad who just started work not too long and I kept it for 2 years plus. Travelled a lot with it and most memorable was taking it to scotland for a golfing trip with my mates.

When I returned to Malaysia, I was using mom's E90 which I am still on and off when I am back in KL. the car was bought new from Ingress in 2008 and still going strong with 42k km; currently undergoing a minor nip and tuck. Over the last 2 years plus in Singapore, i ve gone through 3 ownerships of cars and got married! first was a B5.5 Passat 2.0 then E60 523i and now 2011 F10 523I.

Along the way, I have bought couple of old Mercedes as weekender/ resotration project:
1972 W115 220, 1990 W124 300E, 1991 W126 300SE, 1995 W140 S320L.
