adoi.....get well Bro GeoffreyLee! Pls control ur diet post hospital to prevent scaring.

Anyway, my wife recently bought a RM200 gas regulator which apparently has an auto-shut off for gas leak. Not figured out how this works but I was fumming cos the gas delivery chap sold it to her. I called him and he assured me this product is a certified item.....and my last RM15 regulator was already leaking.

I guess this story kinda makes my outlay worthwhile.

For those who want to know make of brand, pls ask me......and yes, its imported.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and wishes.. I will be discharged from SJMC today.. Will be recovering at home for a week or two.

Now I can walk properly but still have some pain.

Subang Jaya Medical Center is by far the best place to be. Nurse there are professional and kind. Food and Beverage are superb and according to nutritionist.

BMWCM forum is the best entertainment I ever have.. even better then ASTRO. Thanks for the free WIFI at SJMC

Most of our stove are build in to the cabinet, from this I learn that we need a fan to ventilate the cabinet incase of gas leak so the gas will not accumulate in there to create an fireball.

It is good to spend the RM200 for your safety bro.. it worth every cent. The pain I have gone thru has caused me sleepless nights even with painkiller.

errr... I think you meant the gas cylinder that is stored in cabinet..

I have a friend who was burnt when they were using a portable gas stove for
steamboat. the burnt was quite severe. Even though it heal, the scar is still there
after 6 months. Found out later that they did not insert the gas canister properly.

I heard that there is a cream from china that can help healing faster. Can't
recall what is the name.

Hi Bro,

I was lucky to have first aid knowledge as member of St John Amb during High School. The knowledge to run water over the burn area for 15 minutes as soon as possible will help stop the heat and burn.

I was lucky too to be able to drive to the nearest clinic and have the doc refer me to a specialist (Plastic Surgeon) at Medical Center (Subang Jaya).. My recovery is very fast and scar are almost none or very minor even my burn are severe.

It is not just a painful experience but an expensive one too.. lucky I have a good medical insurance from my office, I can be at SJMC.

Very sorry to hear about your accident. I know the agony you must be going through. I am glad you are in high spirits and I am sure that is whats healing you faster.

Maybe, when you are up to it; you can start a safety first campaign in our forum on piped in gas (this is what I gather - that you used piped in gas). Basically to create awareness and how we can ensure gas companies comply with the highest safety standards possible, for everyone.

Hi Bro..

It is not the fault of GAS Malaysia as it is the fault of the design of my cabinet as it is without ventilator. (90% of all the Cabinet top Stove are without ventilator)

Pipe in GAS is actually safer as it wont explode, and as my case it is a fireball from the accumulated gas in my cabinet.

The safety are simple..

1. Ventilate your cabinet.
2. Have your stove and hose checked every 6 months by professional.
3. Off your main valve if you not using your stove.
4. Smell for gas around your stove prior to fire up.
5. Dont keep your gas tank under the stove.
6. Have a fire blanket nearby.
7. Keep your Specialist Center's ER contact number in the Kitchen wall or door.
8. Inform your neighbour of what to do incase of emergency.
9. Stay alert when you are cooking.

Thanks
