Bro, get well soon..

For others who have gas cooker, usually the problem is due to blocked jet nozzles at the gas stoves. This is caused by spillage when overboiling or oil sluge when cooking. You need to clean this often. One way to detect block nozzles is to see whether the flames are evenly spread and are in BLUE/whitish blue in colour. If you have yellowish flame or flame with black soot, do not use them until you ask a trained technician to service it.

bro get well soon..lucky to be alive!that kind of freak accident could really take a life..i hope you're able to get over the trauma and not let the fear control you..god bless!

Wow.. just read about this... learned a few things too from fellow members/forumers 's postings... and of course glad to know that you start walking again.. hope the little brother is okay too..

So if the leaked LPG is heavier, than the gas detector should install at ground level rather than the common ceiling level.. or was that a smoke detector.. ???

Fire extinguisher.. hmmm... must buy one soonest possible.. so many electrical items at home nowadays.. fire risk is high compare to the older days..

So geoffreylee, wishing u a speedy recovery and there's a saying, those who survived a major disaster, will surely have many good things coming your way!!

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Dear astroboy,

Gas detector and smoke detector is two different things. Smoke detector is n ow easy to buy in Malaysia (not 10 years ago!). Gas detector is not easily available (can buy ... but would cost you dearly). Anyway our LPG and Natural Gas is laced with Mercaptan, so that when it leaks you can smell them. You can test this out by extinguishing the flame on your stove and let the gas flow (But be very carefull.... please).

Fire extinguisher, do you know there is the ABC dry powder type (blue tank) for General Purpose and the Carbon Dioxide type (thin black cylinder) for electrical appliance ...You may not want to damage your electrical appliance with the ABC dry powder. But for me ... I go for ABC dry powder ... cheaper.

Okey lah cannot lecture too much .... actually I have been out of touch in this area for such a long time already...

Thanks so much for the wishes.. really appreciate it.

bro QD250... I cant smell the gas as the leak is inside the cabinet which the stove is installed.

errr... I think you meant the gas cylinder that is stored in cabinet..

I have a friend who was burnt when they were using a portable gas stove for
steamboat. the burnt was quite severe. Even though it heal, the scar is still there
after 6 months. Found out later that they did not insert the gas canister properly.

I heard that there is a cream from china that can help healing faster. Can't
recall what is the name.

Jarance his house no gas cylinder la he use central gas sistem which is supply by gas malaysia.

Just read this, sorry to said accident like this do happen. Get well soon and take care.

Very sorry to hear about your accident. I know the agony you must be going through. I am glad you are in high spirits and I am sure that is whats healing you faster.

Maybe, when you are up to it; you can start a safety first campaign in our forum on piped in gas (this is what I gather - that you used piped in gas). Basically to create awareness and how we can ensure gas companies comply with the highest safety standards possible, for everyone.

Just came across this thread and sorry to hear what you had gone through. Hope
you'll get well soon to get your Z3 or E39. Both are great cars! Take care bro.
