Kev:
strictly from my own xperience:
a.) u cd bring it into bimmerpro @ batu caves. the owner, Poh, is a very helpful and nice chap.. and most importantly, he charges very reasonably.... surely he would be glad to check out the car for you.. if u r serious, i'll get u his phone number
b.) look for:
- transmission jerk. make sure when u test drive it, the tranny feels smooth. be more sensitive to when u r stopping the car, and see if there's any jerk shifting down just before full stop
- when u test drive, listen if there's any excessive hissing sound (external air), or any other vibrational nuisance...
- browse thru the i-drive and see if there's any recent faults or warning
- check the auto seat.. most i saw were broken..
- if u r going for the m-sport, the soft-touch coating on the steering wheel usually have peel-offs.. choose one with minimal peels la... ( my advice: get the m-sport.. dun waste your money on the "hi-line"..)

well, that's all i could think of rite now...
all the best, and hope u get that ride!

not necessarily bimmerpro bro... there are a lot of BMW specialists in Klang Valley and of course you can bring your car to wherever convenient for you :top: for a minimal fee, you could have peace of mind instead of worrying whether your car is faulty or not.
For UK recond car.. normally you have to ask them to check on the rust underneath the car due to the usage of some chemical to prevent snow from clogging up during winter. And also normally UK driver really thrashed their car so wear & tear is very important. Ask the appointed mechanic to check on the brakes, transmissions, etc... if posssible, ask your dealer to replace all the oils, namely engine, brake, transmission oil :top:

get someone reliable and professional which svs bmw cars.

would advice you to request the car dealer to bring the car to your foreman's workshop, get it jacked up and check overall chasis, suspension...etc.

Then check all of the electronics, which costs bomb for bmws, engine(no idea), gear box(10k-20k), active steering (10k)

so, what is bimmerpro (Poh) contact? I am getting my 525 tomorrow. Might want to send it in for a check...
