I guess most have to be careful on the words tha SA gave. Mine is simple, they be honest to me im fine with it on the deals. Its a new car bro, BSRI i got is 3 years and 2 years free service and oils their own dealer covered. As for parts replacements warranty i think all dealers only gave 2 years unlimited warranty? Im not sure other dealers said is 5 years warranty on parts? Any bro can enlighten us on their deals?

There is no such warranty that runs up to 5 years with BMW Malaysia and its well known that we only have 2 years of manufacturer's warranty which is way below even for our local industry standard. Most dealers SA especially new ones tend to misinform customers that BSRI is warranty when it isn't. BSRI can be up to 5 years depending on the dealer and this is usually a freebie that they give during promotion period and its only for selected models as you are aware of.

AB Glenmarie SA also said the same thing - 5 years warranty when I asked about the X1 during their road show in Empire mall...fail.

In this instance,BMW determined that the item suffered from a premature failure hence, replaced it on goodwill basis. I've heard of other cases too where this goodwill was extended to owners where the item was deemed to have failed 'prematurely'

Moral of the story, don't be afraid to ask or argue your case or at least request that the item be considered for a full warranty replacement even after expiry of the warranty period, especially when you still have a valid BSRI

U bet I will especially if a major part does break just after two years as parts like the ABS system or gearbox system should last for a good couple of years.
