Hydrolock effect was caused by the engine entrapped with water after drive through the flood area, that is water gets into the engine through the air intake. I am trying to gather as many informations as possible and share with everyone here. Please correct me if my understanding is not correct. When it happens : do not starts the car or engine ! Most importantly is to tow your car to the service center. This avoiding the rod from bending. Some car owners also trying to fix it with the below ways :1) do not try to restart the engine when it stalked2) remove the spark plug3) replace the filter4) starts the engine without the spark plug, this will help to remove the entrapped water from the engine. Friends, I found this shield from website, this protective cover called INJEN HYDRO SHIELD, made in USA. It is very useful for preventing hydrolock for light water splash. However it is not useful if it is flood, but at least it helps to minimize the problem.

If you have ever come across this product in Malaysia, please provide us the shop name and address.

Of course. Wise thing to do is to tow the car back to the service center.
