Dun know exactly what to call this...but the question as follow:-I been using open port K&N filter for sometime. Just recently i accounter 2 water hose has been blocked due to no in use in open port filter. this bcos those 2 water hose need to use when only used back the old filter box. pix show #16 is connecting to thermostat (#11). what is the purpose of this thermostat being there ???? If you trace the connection ( attachment link) , it is to throtle then come in back out. izit for the cooling of throther body ???? what if i block the 2 hose showing #16 to thermostat #11 and take out the thermostat, will it cause any problem or damage to the throter ????pls help. Thanks in advance(pix show on this link)http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?mo...142&hg=11&fg=35

aiya, it's just a thermostat to control the -deg days in europe where the trottle linkage and butterfly gets jamed and for the engine start-up etc,etc... no harm after all.. why not bypass from the trottle body, much better, the hot coolant is not nescessary for our climate, will heat up the air going in.

regards.

Hey there E3six,

Was just wondering how your open pod filter is doing on your car.
Any problems running your car with it? What do model do you drive?

Cheers.

My ride is e36 325 manual. so far no problem. has been driving for 1.5 yrs liao. The open port filter is good when at mid and top end speed.

Also i got instal heat shield. I think this is worth for money.
