dear sifus,help me please.............my e30 M20 engine got problem...1. When I drive from 1st gear until at 4000 rpm,my engine 'semput-semput'.. 2nd gear and 3rd gear also has same problem...but at 4th gear it's be come ok...then 5th gear at 5000 rpm or 100km/h it be came 'semput-semput' again.2.My gear box has noise sound at 1st,2nd.3rd&5th...but at gear 4th,the noise sound 'hilang'....3. when i drive at 5000rpm the speed is 100km/h...is'it normal?Tq.....

5k rpm @ 100kmph ..thats not normal bro .

me using 3.91 rear diff . (100kmph @ 3k rpm)

get ur workshop to have a look at the diff bro .

Tq.....

1. possibly your gearbox input syncromesh gone, there is resistance causing excessive engine strain, 4th gear is direct drive 1:1 so no syncro involved.

2. same as the syncromesh

3. you use wrong differential causing high wear and tear on the gearbox, you have to change both gearbox and rear diff, if you change either one, you will still ask the same question in about 6 months time...

other things to check would be your spark plugs and cables

ya en rul, saya dah cuba yang terbaik, tapi still x boleh woo, air flow pun sudah adjust, fuel filter pun sudah ganti, pening, ecu pun dah tukar haha, pun sama jugak, i ingat u kena tambah fuel regulator kot,,...

Can this gearbox fix into E28. Manual or Auto, PRICE??

syncromesh cannot easily be serviced, even if you can find a good mechanic, to take the gearbox apart, getting the replacement parts are not worth to rebuild unless you have a very rare dogleg gearbox.....

Last time i kena that problem, my mech did:

- replace the spark plug
-replace the cable (high voltage cable ? where you plug the spark plug)
- service the distributor (new one mahal..)

then immediately, my car can shoot 220km/h ! no lah.. just joking. but after the work done above, my engine runs smoothhly..

alo bro...i think hold on to ur idea of swapping g/box...as mr firdaus said...he'd done everything...airflow,fuel intake,servicing ur distributor cap etc...still the plug burnt "putih-putih" indicating lack of fuel in the compression chamber...why not add another custom/adjustable fuel regulator (utk menambahkan lagi ketajaman injector ) regards...to err is human to forgive is devine

what has the airflow,fuel, etc,etc got to do with the gearbox problem?

if there are 2 separate problems, rul, please post up the other engine problem or else you will get all sorts of "smart" answers not related to your problems and end up more problems instead........
