It took me just one instance that I know they are not that honest, and left them for good. It was in 2007, and never went back since. If you can head to optimum I can recommend my trustee mech in Ara Dsara to you. It's not the nicest workshop you can find buy the boss is knowledgeable
Is it Jason's place?

No, Jason is not that honest too... Hahahaah (he's in Sunway Mad btw).. But he's definitely much friendlier than Optimum guys

Reliable & decent price? Bavarian Auto from my experience. Prices fluctuates slightly due to EUR/MYR exchange rates though.

Wish I had stumbled upon this thread earlier before I tried out Optimum. I also kena ketuk by Fai few months ago.
Not only their parts prices were expensive but also of questionable quality. For example the lower control
arm bush they changed for me lasted less than three months and one of them cracked already and I had to change again to a premium one in another workshop. Lest you think I'm a boy racer, I am actually a very careful driver and I don't simply trash my car over humps, pot holes and around corners. The boss Jason was actually approachable and friendly but, for unknown reason, he left the pricing to Ah Fai, who is less friendly. What a waste...

Raymond Autoworks in Sunway Damansara is even worse. I found out that their prices are even higher than Auto Bavarian Glenmarie's ones, would you believe!!! And they even charge me a hefty so-called inspection fee on top of their already expensive labour charge! I don't think other outside BMW workshops do that, except maybe BMW Service Centres. This workshop is bigger than most normal/outside BMW workshops (it occupies a corner lot that effectively likes two shoplots joined tog.) yet it was so empty even though it was few days before a long holiday, when all the other workshops in the neighbourhood were jam packed with cars and they had to turn me away cos they couldn't cope! That was why I ended up there, sigh. I guess most seasoned BMW owners must have already heard of this blood sucker and avoiding it like plague! While I was there I only saw two mat sallehs checking in. I also feel sorry for them!

All I can say is that in Malaysia some, thankfully not all, BMW specialists/workshops think that BMW drivers are all loaded so can slaughter as they wish. If not for them, I think BMW cars are not really that costly to maintain.

Complacency breeds contempt I would say in this case.
My opinion is Ken..move on to another workshop. Just like a restaurant, some say good others say so-so. They wont miss our business much and at the same time there will be new ones coming too.

I was lucky I found another, and I go there ever since.

So, which one is yours now bro?

Try out Mr Yong of Bestness Motorsports (jalan PJU1a/12) at Ara Damansara (behind Chitta Mall) for engine matters. But he is a one man show and if you are in a hurry, dont go. Best to make appointment first. 0122886480
