agree on vinyl wraps. you get to customize some graphics too without permanent alteration like paint. Just did a wrap for my wife's X1 and it looks gangsta!

maintenance is surprisingly easy with regular simple washes and occasional spray on polymer based wax and you're done. Don't need the hassle of time consuming detailing jobs (sometimes rather expensive too).

will send in my F30 for a full wrap with some custom graphics soon too!

My friend had his entire E92 dipped in yellow. Results look nice and yes it has the matte look. Protects the original paint a lot better compared to glass coats as glass coats does not protect the paint from stone chips. For best protection is a sticker wrap for the entire car. Cost around the same as a fully dipped car, around RM4k-RM5k.

Mafulat, can you post some pic on your X1 and subsequently on your F30 after the wrap? Is it easily scratches and peeled off?

WIP X1. Also F30 currently naked with just the stripes. Matte wraps seem to withstand scratches very well. Now going into the first year with matte stripes and I've not seen a single scratch on it. glossy wraps apparently scratches a lot easier but there are wraps with special coating that prevents scratches.

Totally agree on the piano black trim. Nice to see, hard to keep it clean and speck free.

CF interior + CF side mirror cover + racing stripes + CF kidney grille... thereabouts of RM600-700. not very sure as he gave me some discount for some favour I did for him some time back.

holy crap, i didn't know as i didn't bother trying others as he is my friend of mine. and yes, they are super busy with plenty of jobs piling in that most times they just cannot cope and yet people still insist on getting it done. he's got a reputation out there that he's cranky and busy, which he is but doesn't skimp on getting the job done properly.

Did coating. Think its a pure waste of money and scam. I feel its basically like signing up for long term polishing package as most will tell u to come back for maintenance.

Paint coating is the best snake oil since snake oil.

Like foaming your chassis as well.

Tint is allowed along the top of the windshield , not exceding 20% of th size of the windshield.

Front Side Windows
Must allow more than 70% of light in.

Side Windows
Must allow more than 50% of light in.

Rear Window
Must allow more than 50% of light in.

ask them to go crack down on snatch thieves breaking windows and see if they can EVER find any of them. what makes them think that reducing tinting will help them identify crime suspects when they can't even find snatch thieves?

reducing tinting will miraculously invite 'crime suspects' in the open serving their @$$ on a platter to them during road blocks and THAT's where they catch these suspects most often. MUCH WOW! SO AWESOME!
