I changed my tyres today from Yokohama ES100 195/60-15 to Falken Azenis ST115 195/55-15. Managed to sell the Yoko for RM600 and acquired Falken for RM920. Yoko was used for approximately 1 month. I did measure the tread depth when it is new (8mm) and today it is still at 8mm.The idea is, I just want to try another aspect ratio. Instead of 60 to 55 that're seem popular with 15" rims. What do you guys think about it. Give me some comments, do I made a right/silly decision here. Thanks a lot. Appreciate it.

I think 195/60R15 is too big for the e30.. unless you're on an e34 which comes in 70R14 as standard... The Falken azenis st115 is agood tyre. I've used it before and have no complains.. stick with 195/55R15 :)

duh...!!!????  why from correct fitment to lower profile..!!?? they sell u the 55 series cos the 60 series are hard to get by....duh...???

195/60/15 is the correct tyre size.... for 14 inch rims, the right size is actually 195/65/14 which is not available...

195/60/15, 205/55/15 and 205/50/16 is the same height and is the right size for E30....

Thanks everybody.

I feel the accelaration are much better but I don't know yet about precision of meter reading.

Abang Kahar,

Definitely gatai. Easily rugi RM300 plus. But what to do, the urge is there ....

of course acceleration is faster due to smaller size tyre...

check here for the tyre calculator prepared by one of the sifu in E30, Ove Kvam.

http://home.no.net/ovekvam/compeng7.xls (Right click and save as)

this spreadsheet is E30 specific

ok..

original wheel and tyre diameter=195/65r14= 609.1mm

a. 195/55r15=595.5mm diameter

b. 205/55r15=606.5mm diameter

c. 195/60r15=615mm diameter

d. 205/50r16=611.4mm diameter

e. 225/40r17=611.8mm diameter

I would use either a. or b. because c. is a wee bit bigger in diameter (6mm)

:)

195/60/15 gives me the ground clearance for some higher than normal road hump....

Definitely, now I need an "oil sump protector". Anybody have a spare for sale?
