I noticed that the tyre wear of my front tyres are greater than those at the rear and the wear seems to be at the outer side of the tyres.I thought being a rear wheel drive, there is more tendency to oversteer and thus the typical tyre wear profile should be the opposite, ie greater at the rear compared to the front?

 Bro,
I hv the same thought oso when first using RWD udm. Actually the front will wear more since more braking n steering. BTW for our udm rear tyre wears more on the inside, if possible try to rotate left n right every 10k kms

Pardon my ignorance, but may i ask what car you drive?

Tried to search ur posts, but couldnt tell for sure.

You can update ur profile so that your car appears under your nick. That way, it is easier to get a response relevant to the car u drive.

c-kotak.... another possibility for outer side wear - under inflation (centre section wear is indicative of over inflation)....

Of course there may be other possibilities e.g. if car lowered, how you drive etc. .... but being a rear driver your rears should show more wear, not the fronts so there might be something a bit off.... send it to your nearest tire shop for diagnosis.

If he is driving e34 w a big cc engine in front, braking under hard cornering would explain the tire wear.

He is driving an e36 318i...pretty slow driver too. Maybe 535i is correct, tire pressure not ngam! :p :D

sorry for the confusiion caused. I am driving a wuzzy e36 318i. Will update my profile.

Big-Al, pressure at 31 for 205/60/15 pun tak cukup-ar? Owners manual says 29 only wor?

c-kotak ...

1) Pegi buat alignment
2) Pump 1-2 bar more .... u running on 15" .. u wun really feel the diff.
3) Monitor the tire wear ..

If that does not solve it ... change rims to 17"

THANK YOU for updating ur profile.

That helps to clear it up.

:D

From my experience with my E46 325i, the rear tyres should wear out at a slightly faster rate than the fronts.

c square, are your front and rear tyres of the same brand?

maybe the corner you are taking now tak cukup speed, thats why only front tyre is wearing off. :D

while cornering if you can feel the back of the car moving around and if you hear some sound then the speed is just right...
