Thermostat rating

Does anyone know what is the OEM rating of the thermostat for m20 engines? In the market, there are only 80C and 88C available. I believe 88C are for M50 engines?Using 80C will have the needle sitting between the second and middle line. The 88C will have the needle sitting about 1mm over from middle (that is half the needle passes the middle line while the other half is still within).

Dear, Im not sure which engine is mine, but it is 12 valve type 1990. before i used 80deg C but now i get 72 deg C. during normal running it steady at little bit below first line. I cannot advise either it good or bad since when running at congeated road temperature keep on increasing until stable little bit above half.
