Yes,those days were good memories.

Anyway, as I said its good memories and it will stay that way. What Chris mentioned and explained is the truth and the story behind all this.

We as founding members are not here for glory nor fame. We have done our part as office bearers, putting the club in place and moving on. We had our fun back then and its now for the next commitee to bring on to the next level.

I remember there was a meeting at desbimmer's place where the idea of formalising the forum into a club was brought up. Even eldrow was there (if I am not mistaken), so were those the "founding fathers"? Does it matter? It's not the same as historians trying to figure out Columbus reached America 1st or did the Chinese get there a few centuries earlier.

Actually during those days, the BCIC rules and regulations were there, but not a single BMW club in the world signed any contracts with BMW. It was based on mutual understanding.

This issue was discussed during the International Council Meeting of which I attended last year. The contracts were drafted up and debated by all delegates, and each club must signed it if it wishes to have the privilege to use the BMW moniker and logo. There are plenty of specific guidelines and details to say the least.

I believe in the next Council meeting, the amended contracts will be distributed to the various delegates and then filter down to the respective clubs in the various regions.

Yeah, Eldrow, yourself and a few others were the Chinamen that found America. But one chinaman said this,

I hope the "founding member" of BMW Club Malaysia don't get me wrong but I had to set the record straight and we all know history doesn't lie. Yes, I founded BMW Club Malaysia and NO there are no co-founder or co-founders for the record.

We all have had enough of his distorted account of events leading to the initial formation of the club. It is good that this happened, a blessing in disguise actually, so that all the members and newbies will know the work that was done earlier and the landmines we had to get through to get the club to where it is today.
