Well,I've had the e60 for 7 months now and never had the chance to try the top speed primarily becoz both my front tyres has sidewall damage from scrubbing on the outgoing parking ramp at KLIA2 :motz: .

Now that I've got new tyres all around and repaired my damaged rims as round as possible, yesterday was the day i let it rip...only to be disappointed with the way the car handled......poorly!

Having reached 220km/h the car felt very floaty and my confidence on the car floated away out the window.I just didn't dare go any faster for fear of losing control, literally. Not confidence inspring at all!Unlike my previous e39 where 230km/h was smooth and I wanted more but the car was unwilling.

Let's hear it from the E60 owners out there. How does your cars handle at speed..........mine sucks!

ps. my wheels are staggered 245/40/18 and 275/35/18 if that makes any difference.

What kind of suspension u're using?

per vin i have sports suspension and generally the suspension components are in good nick.

bro herbert....anti roll bars are wat it is.....resists roll.it does nothing to straight line driving.some cars are fitted with dsc where the front roll bar are in two halves and connected via a hydraulic block which controls the hydraulic valving to stiffen up the bar during cornering maneuvres.......

so....where are the e60 rempiters....wats yr experience....

Dear All,

I had tested mine E60 two weeks back LEKAS Highway top end responce feels lighter than my E39, generally i felt that the E60 slightly lighter but i hit 230km/h and i felt it was ok generally only wind sound from my sun roof after i shut the inner slide cover it was quite, mine Yr & manufactured 2010 525i MSport E60 all stock standard it was bought at Ingress Auto single owner.

My E39 was 2003 M54 had MSport 17" staggered rims and Eisman rear muffler with RCS suspension set up drop in works air filter, i had remapped my ECU done by DK Tuning, used it for 9 years it was a local CKD by Auto Bavaria. Top Speed same 230km/h little slower to reach its top speed compared to E60.
I had full service records by AB and Optimum.

If you want to compare the E60 with E39, to me both cars has it's plus points by looking at it's era of time, in terms of technology and gadgets E60 has full of them which makes driving lots more easier.

It's up too a individuals choice or prefference how well do you want to keep your ride, preventive maintenance can be costly but yet again it gives you a piece of mind.

Cheers
Siva

E60 525 n52 engine Stock suspension on Pirelli P7 245/40/18 all round

Generally 200 km/h not a issues at all ( 180km/h is a very comfort zone to me ) but think 220km/h should be just fine also if u are using run flat tyre cos stiffer side wall.

Trid 240km/h before but must say not really a solid confident to drive on unless m sport suspension as claimed by other bimmer members if it wasn't a false statement .

:67: bro moots . this is what I know and been taught if u intend to go rempeting tomorrow , this few thing MUST do now today or yesterday ..

what I must do is ...

1. tyre . check the tyre pressure front n rear is it to the spec .( must do this in the morning , when the air inside the tyre is still cold )
. check the alignment and also balancing as to perfect as possible ( go to kedai tyre ma ) this 2 might cause floating

2. check the shock absorber and suspension condition good or not so .( if adjustable shock absorber adjust to race mode , rendam as possible ) this also must not rule out it may contribute to floating

3. check the control arm bushing ( important , don't neglect this one !!! ) this also might float the car

4. body clearance to tarmac , low or high . high - banyak angin masuk ma , so lower the body as possible ( the lower centre gravity , the more grip the car to tarmac ) this one confirm to cause the car to float if the clearance is to high .

5. change front spoiler to old ones nanti kena batu tak sakit hati ...

6 . pray to god that tomorrow NO RAIN .... this one is not float its flying .... hahahahaha

if all those are clear then it should runs as it should bro ...

that's my 3 cents ... cheers bro happy rempeting ...

He he...my E60 is fine afterall. The floaty feeling was due to the road.I tested at the ELITE stretch from KLIA exit to Seremban Hiway PLUS exit. The road there is undulating at certain stretches, hence shaking the car more than at other stretches of the road.

Took it to 240km/h at the LDP hi way, above that semput aledi.....the car AND the driver.....
