That's the funny thing about tyres. Sometimes dealers offer the "standard" pricing given by Pirelli. I remember I went to GSH (the authorised dealer for Pirelli) in Glenmarie. They had lots of Dragons stocked up but quoted me a price above RM500 each. Since I had time, I shopped around and finally got it much cheaper. It helps to bring it up in the forum before making a decision to buy. I remembered checking with Alvin and he also recommended me MPS in Sunway, that gave me a term of reference on pricing.

Affan, there's really no point pursuing the matter now that the transaction has been done. I shouldn't have brought it up. You might even get me into trouble.

225/17/45 Falken Ziex ZE512 is RM390 per pc. I'm using it, and its comfortable and quiet. No complaints. A lot of users feel that its hopeless in the wet - personally, I think its OK. I drove pretty fast on the Karak highway in heavy rain back from the Bukit Tinggi event with no worries. The wear rate is pretty good too (the rears get burned quickly on my ride).

RM550 - RM430 = RM120 x 4 = RM480.
That's equivalent to 16 tins of milk powder. Almost half a year man!!! Grrr.. I am going back to the shop and tell them abt what I found anyway. Plus they didn't get the balancing for the front tires done right. I did not have time to check as I was there with my daughter who got super restless after 3 hours there. The shopowner said I don't have to wait for long for the tires from the TTDI branch. :( :(

Don't know if it's urban legend or truth but people say that you have to buy tires from Klang if you want the best prices. :dunno:

If I recall, DD and Chester led a convoy to Klang for tyre change. There were about 10 cars or so.

The technique is quite simple, just learn to beg!

Got my 4 pcs ES100 there 2 years back, total saving came up to about RM50 each compared to those quotes from tayar shops around DU/Subang area.. But be careful though, check the tires manufacturing date...They hv new and old stocks, if you don't ask u know what you will be getting!

So, yes, i won't mind travel down to klang for a morning BKT and get a set of new tires from there.. :eek:k:

hi,

Yokohama Advan Neova (AD07) also not bad, comparable performance to Bridgestone S03.

How much per piece? Just want to compare.

Well if you know the price 2 years back, U can make a comparison..mine was 320 ea.. :) 215/50/17.(ok..it's odd size..:D)

Klang offers better price for bigger size, don't bother if you are looking for 13" or 14". not much difference compare to PJ area based on my experience..

Okay guys! How about a BMWClubMalaysia convoy to Klang for a tire bargain hunt? Want to organise one? :)

after going thru the thread, my question would be where should I go to get Pirelli Dragons, 205/55/16? and how much should I pay for them?

Thanks and cheers for the useful info.

If it is on let me know please. I am interested. Went to Sunway Ah Tee (Falken Signage) shop yesterday. Was recommended by some forummer. I was quoted Rm700 for Falken Avensis ST115 for 265/35/18 and RM650 for Dunlop. No sure price is good or not. But I am in no hurry to change, so I am interested if anyone want to go to Klang/kapar and check out the tyre. Just PM me time and date. Thanks

How about Silverstone tires people? They are making a name for themselves in motorsport you know! The FTZ is quite popular and the Kruizer series also. Anybody dare to try on a BMW? Malaysia boleh ke? :dunno:

The last time one was organised by Chester and DD, it attracted more than 10 cars. I heard stories of how the convoy had to make illegal U-turn cos pack leader got lost, hehe! I think it should be an annual event. If Committee don't organise, you can do so cos many people quite desperate to go witchu already... heh!
