i have also tried the golf gti mark 6, still the 320d feels better to me, but i have heard that the resale value for a gti is much better than a bmw, but u won't regret if u buy a 320d, without the idrive is ok to me since i like the high torque in this car, even if u step harder on the pedal, the FC is still low...:top:

I've tested both cars in the past week..both cars feel fantastic,the 320d is just so torquey and effortless.The body control is simply excellent and feels ultra tight.Hell,just typing this gives me goosebumps! The 6speed matches the engine perfectly and with a 1000km theoretical range from a tankful,its having ur cake and eating it whole! Mind u,with a remap,the 320d will be pushing out a healthy 220bhp/444Nms!!

The mk6 Golf GTi was also simply outstanding.I just love the DSG gearbox and that 2.0 turbo is such a gem.Being a lithe hatchback,it was fantastically agile while giving such a comfy ride,thanx to the ACC adaptive damping function.Tuning potential...endless.A simple remap gives 260bhp/380Nms.

I love both cars.. dunno how to choose!!!

I still have lingering doubts as to the 320d's durability shud I decide to remap it later on,especially with our Euro2M.

As it is now,its a draw..and I need to get one fairly soon to replace my e60.

i think i will only remap it after the warranty period lo...gosh, can tune it until that fast!!
already feel like king on the road:21:, can't imagine how is it after remapping

both gti and 320d are good, the price difference is about 30k. how about the warranty of gti? any free servicing like bmw?

VW gives a 2years unlimited mileage warranty but no free servicing.What does BMW offer? I didn't bother to ask cuz was busy concentrating on my e60 that day.

Yup..apparently Euro4M will be made available come 2011 so I'll only dare to remap after that..btw how do u find the radio/cd on the 320d? Its a little wierd not having an iDrive screen after owning an e60 and having gotten used to it.

regarding the idrive thing, if 320d got it, then it is a bonus, now didn't come with it, still i feel ok, since they gave me a BMW GPS to compensate that weak point, and the rest of the function of the idrive, i think we can find it from the computer as well, quite used to it now, to me, the driving feeling is more important than the idrive
