if you do go up north by way of BKK. Theres this guy in the city that has 23 years on the boxer. and a few on the inline fours. but hes done his magic on my gs11 and it felt like new. head to Barcelona Motors. nice bunch of ppl and ever so accomodating ( what would you expect from the Thais) . certainly chearper too. do what you have to do in the city and pick the bike up in 2 days. you will not be dissapointed, i assure you.
my 2 cents.

team slow moe

Fazly if you sincere abt helping us out - please look at my bike clutch problem ? i got it fixed for ard RM4000 the other day ... the same problem happened to my fren adventure.

We been told that it was due to wear and tear - ARE U TELLING ME THAT BMW GS AND ADVENTRUE CLUTCH CUD ONLY LAST FOR 25000km++ .... IF YES - PUT A BIG NOTE IN YOUR 2 YEARS WARRANTY AGREEMENT THAT U DONT COVER THE CLUTCH - SO THAT ALL FUTURE OWNER OF GS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM.

Or is it because Garry too lazy to do the paperwork ?

Where is your business ethics - or shud i reword that - do u guys have business ethics or not ?

Fazly - hope you have a safe trip.

I thank you for your assistance and support. I really do hope BMW Germany will look into the matter favorably, failure which, Auto Bavaria will hear it from my lawyer.

This is not a threat - who am i to fight BMW .

For your info and also for the record - when Auto Bavaria replaced the clutch they also replaced my rear brake pads. I pick up the bike from Glenmarie workshop on 23/3/09.

GUESS WHAT - YESTERDAY (26/3/09), AFTER A DAY RIDING IN THE RAIN AND SOME HARD BRAKING - THE REAR CLIPPER GOT LOOSE WHILE I AM RIDING THE BIKE AND I DIDNT KNOW ABT IT TILL I GOT HOME. THANKS GOD THAT I DIDNT GET INTO AN ACCIDENT.

This morning (27/3/09), I showed the brake calliper to Garry and Nik. Garry took some pictures of it AND PROMISED TO REPLACE 1. THE BRAKE CALLIPER, 2. AXLE (due to scratches all over the place from the loose caliper) and 3. THE REAR WHEEL RIM (dented).

THEY PROMISED TO REPLACE ALL THE ABOVE PARTS IN TWO WEEKS TIME ie latest by 15th April 2009.

What is wrong with you guys - we are talking abt people life here. This has gone too far.

regards

bro, can show some of the pic of the rear clipper and other damaged parts.

Hi, I am Keith. I have been following this post for the past few months and I am shocked that BMW does'nt seem to be interested in doing anything about their substandard after sales service (for bikes).

The reason why I am posting here is because I would like to inform BMW Motorrad that they have just lost one customer. I wanted to purchase a K1300R but after having seen no improvements in the service from fellow forumers, I have finally decide to buy a Ducati Monster 1100.

I am appall by the lack of commitment from BMW Motorrad Malaysia to seriously look into this issue...!!!

hello guys,i am back after a very long break.
well,i f just received my bike last week after repairs and checks and so far,it feels very good.
can see positive changes in the service.
n the guys had been very professional in handling my case.
so thanks to david(BB),fazli(bmw) and not forgetting garry and geng for being very professional and for all the positive changes that i am seeing now.

Thanks mac for your update and your observation. Give credit when credit is due. cheers.

On a lighter note:

A fantasy

Owner: (Calling BMW on the phone.) "I'm having a problem with my car, and I've discovered that most customers who have this model are having the same problem. May I speak to someone in engineering please?"
BMW: "That's terrible news sir. I'll put you through to the chief engineer." (10 minutes of over-seas phone-maze follow.)

Wolfgang: "Ja?"
Owner: "Did you design the rear power sun screen for the 7-series?"

Wolfgang: "Ja, ich entwerfen d Sonnenschutzrollo. Sein nicht es gros?"
Owner: "Well, actually I'm having a little problem with it. Also, could you please speak English?"

Wolfgang: "Still the English? You must be a new BMW owner! How can I help?"
Owner: "The gears in the sunscreen drive fail rapidly. The fiber worm gear or the pot-metal drive gear get chipped up when the motor stalls. This causes the sun screen to fail in nearly every car."

Wolfgang: "Gut Gott, das nisht goot! Sorry. I mean: That's awful! I think we should have made those gears out of bronze! In such an expensive car, the cost of a small bronze gear is nothing. I'll call the factory tomorrow and put in an engineering change-order. We'll get this into production next week and recall the whole parts inventory from our dealers.

I'm really glad you brought this to our attention. That accessory has been in production for 10 years and no one said a word. All those customers suffering in silence... And deprived of my wunderbar sun screen... Oh The Humanity! Please let me send you one of the new gears."

Owner: "Gee, thanks! What a great company!"

Unker Jarance so farney la. hhehheh..

Glad to hear about the improvement. So can keep my options open. :)

Mac75my, Glad u raised up this matter, otherwise those top people are unaware that their reputation has been tarnised by this.

Actually, we always discussed among ourselves re BMW poor service during our TT. We have no choice but to send our bikes there as they carry 2 years warranty. Some of us even decided to send our bikes to Singapore as their parts are 40% cheaper and their services are much more professional. By the way.... Singapore is not that far.... for the bikers rite?

Hellraiser, my 1st and 2nd service were nightmares. Oil leaked/dripped a few days after done the services. Reason each time was screws untied properly. Luckily my recent 3rd sevice was ok. Can u imagine how much time I have wasted each time I got to resend my bike. To rectify small problems can take hours or even days.... Adios

aloooo...
I got the same experince after 1st service like u - screws untied properly and now dah hilang satu. I'm using f800st.. And I already informed Ms Garry.. next week pi ganti... Aiiiyooo!!!!

bmw has recently anounced a global recal to check on all bikes from 06 to 09 for faulty front brake.
Are our malaysian market involved as well?

To all my motorrad friends out there,
I know there are a lot of you out there who can relate urself to the topic above.
I have been one customer who had been putting up and tolerating to all the stupid remarks and unsatisfactory work by some quarters. At last ,after my last experience with the idiot named nik yesterday,I have decided its enough as my patience has been stretched to the maximum.I am going to make an official complaint to BMW Malaysia and Germany.I hope all u guys out there who have had bad experiences and unsatisfactory services, please come forward and relate your experiences here. This is important in order to improve the service by motorrad workshop as they are providing a very substandard service to us and our bikes.Dont let one or two idiotic mechanics to damage the reputation of our bikes.Make changes.

What ashamed!!! Pls do something guys!

This thread seems to be quiet nowadays. Hope the service in AB has improved. Would appreciate some feedback from the Motorrad owners.
